The Great Outdoors magazine May 2008 says:
Neither the lightest nor the cheapest but they are very light and the price is very low. They are also quite cool for a boot with a W/B lining. My feet didn’t overheat in them on a walk over all the summits of Bidean nam Bian on a dull windy September day with a temperature around 15°C. I’m not too keen on red colour but they are also available in a nice nondescript grey and the red does tone down after being doused in peat a few times. The boots look like a typical mid height fabric boot but a closer inspection reveals an interesting glued consruction that reduces the number of seams. Bands of stiff transparent material run from the heel cup and the sole to the laces, reinforcing the soft fabric. These, along with the wider reinforcing strip running from the firm toe bumper to the ankle, are glued rather than stitched. I can’t say how long this construction will last yet but fewer seams to abrade should increase durability. The cushioning and grip are excellent and lacing is easy. The forefoot flexes with the foot but the boots don’t flex from side to side due to a synthetic stiffening plate that can be seen at the edges of the sole. The forefoot is quite wide and the heel quite narrow so they fit my feet well. I’d like to see a version without the waterproof/breathable membrane but other than that I really like these boots.
