<p> Constructed using a jacquard mesh upper, the ASICS Gel-Contend 8 Running Shoes encase each foot in breathable comfort. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the upper, providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air. This aids moisture management by wicking sweat and excess moisture as it's produced then transferring it to the outer layers where it can be easily evaporated, keeping your feet cool, dry and comfortable at all times. The mesh upper creates a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in. The overlays, have synthetic stitching across them, this works with the lacing system to lock down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can go further for longer with complete support and comfort. Completing the upper is a soft heel collar that sits comfortably against the skin to reduce the risks of chafing and irritation.</p>

<p>The midsole of the ASICS Gel-Contend 8 Running Shoes features the comfortable, flexible and durable Amplifoam technology. This midsole compound uses classic EVA and a 45-degree density to ensure comfortable cushioning, enhanced durability and more flexibility. The midsole material is engineered to maintain durability at softer densities, providing better flexibility, comfort and platform adaptability ideal for natural running. Lightweight and resilient, AmpliFoam spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces. As well as this, ASICS' signature GEL Cushioning System has been placed in the rearfoot of the ASICS Gel-Contend 8 Running Shoes to supply bounce back and shock absorption; sparing your joints as you run, allowing for smooth transitions and movement in multiple planes. Completing the midsole is an Ortholite sock liner that provides added underfoot cushioning and enhanced breathability. The sock liner allows cool air to flow throughout the midsole to ensure your feet remain fresher for longer. Following the natural progression of the foot, Guidance Line technology helps generate a more natural and consistent stride.</p>
