The Inov-8 Oroc 340 Running Shoes feature a synthetic/tpu upper for a strong and durable yet comfortable fit over the top of the foot for a secure fit. An EVA midsole increases shock attenuation, improves cushioning and durability. A unisex last designed on the average runners foot, provides a suitable and comfortable fit for most runners.
The 340s utilise SHOC-ZONE 3 which gives you a 9mm, heel-to-toe differential which provides a lower heel ridge to give you greater control and feel without reducing the cushioning you need for tough terrains. The 6mm footbed also provides you with a supportive and rigid cushioning system to give you the comfort and support you need you require underfoot.
The OROC SOLE provides you with a tough and rigid outsole designed for a variety of terrains. With a slightly stiffer compound than the 220 X-Talon, this sole is suitable for both hard and soft ground running. Tungsten Carbide Spikes provide excellent traction on tricky terrains for a comfortable and grippy ride underfoot.

"These Orocs look ace and give good grip on just about everything except ice, which is a shame as that is what I naively hoped they would be good for (they are probably intended for wet tree roots). The widely spaced lugs on the sole are good for shedding mud and their chunkiness should mean they wear better than Mudclaws, however you can feel them when running on the road and the titanium dobs make a terrible clattering on Tarmac, which makes you get off road ASAP"

Quick drying mesh uppers give high breathability. Met-Cradle webbing secures 1st & 5th metatarsal in natural position, firmly holding forefoot in place while maintaining natural metatarsal alignment.
Standard 6mm or 3mm interchangeable footbed with rebound inserts for fine tuning and comfort.
Moulded cupped MidShoc midsole provides the best balance between comfort and underfoot sensitivity.
Moulded stiffener with META-FLEX grooves allows metatarsals to take their natural alignment when contouring.
Our specially designed outsoles use both our endurance compound and our unique inov-8 sticky rubber compound for extra performance and grip on race day.
For technical footwear a good fit is essential to enhance your performance while running. This is achieved through combining the key elements such as the last and the lacing system. Inov-8 have developed several lasts modelled around the actual shape of a foot, ensuring a secure heel hold while allowing the forefoot to assume a natural unrestricted position throughout the complete running cycle.
Precise fitting last ensures minimal internal movement when contouring, ascending and descending.
Generous fitting last offering a comfortable fit. Ideal comfort for training and long distances.
All our shoes give the option for high front lacing which is designed to ensure a good heel hold. This in conjunction with our low heel cut gives the ankle joint a larger range of motion and less pressure on the Achilles heel.
Lacing attached to nylon webbing, cradles and secures the upper behind the metatarsal heads.
Upper support Lacing attached to polymer upper supports, cradles the foot more evenly.
Lacing attached to synthetic upper cradles and distributes pressure across the metatarsals.
All our footwear incorporates a meta-flex groove which is anatomically aligned in front of the metatarsal heads to provide a natural fore foot flex.
New 5-finger meta-shank aligns with each individual metatarsal for greater flexibility when contouring while retaining underfoot impact protection.
Polymer shank positioned behind the metatarsal heads providing underfoot protection and extra stability primarily for additional support on longer adventures.
The dual density midsole as featured on the flyroc 310 (flyroc 284 W's), roclite 320, terroc 330 (terroc 308 W’s), and roclite 390 GTX has a dense posting on the medial and lateral side leaving a channel down the centre of the shoe to aid flexibility and movement while keeping the shoe neutral. The posting is an aid towards preventing supination and over-pronation.
Sole design whereby the heel section is curved in two planes aligning with the natural curvature of the heel. This provides a more natural and earlier heel strike to aid descending and contouring.
The upper webbing support in our footwear is anatomically positioned to cradle the fore foot behind the metatarsal heads and provide a secure foot hold.
Our range of products give runners a choice of midsole cushioning denoted by an arrow system moulded into the midsoles.
One of the most important elements of runner’s footwear is the weight. Our footwear is some of the lightest in the market and to show this we use a unique naming system based on the outsole name and the weight of an average size UK8 shoe. E.g. a Flyroc 310 is built on the Flyroc sole unit and the shoe weighs about 310gms.
Some of our shoes use our exclusive ‘sticky’ rubber compound which has been specially developed using climbing rubber technology. This rubber optimizes grip in wet conditions, however the trade off is it wears down quicker.
Our endurance rubber compound has been formulated for an optimal balance on wear and mixed terrain grip.
Our translucent outsole as used on most of the PK models uses a non-marking rubber compound.
