The Nike Free Run+ 2: Barefoot-like feel, shoe-like benefits
The Brand new Nike Free Run 2 Running Shoes have been updated from the previous Nike Free Run Shoes, with key changes and enhancements with technology this is sure to be a great selling. Nike's natural motion technology focused in a great low profile and flexible shoe to promote stronger feet which can reduce injury and improve performance. Nike Free is on a 10 point scale (3.0 being the most flexible offering in this style of footwear). The Run Free+ is the perfect starting point for those wanting to use Nike Free for the first time and for the first time is Nike+ enabled.
Designed to keep the foot in place without restricting movement, the Nike Free Run+ 2 features bonded overlays for excellent support. Lightweight and flexible, these thin strips are attached to the mesh upper for a streamlined fit. The inner sleeve provides a snug feel, yet it's dynamic enough to move with the natural motion of the foot.
Without sacrificing the feel of barefoot running, the Nike Free Run+ 2 Shoe delivers a plush, cushioned ride. Phylite material seamlessly fuses the midsole with the outsole, creating a one-piece design that's as resilient as it is durable. The moulded sockliner mimics the curves of the foot for a comfortable, supportive fit.
What is Nike Free?
Nike, over the years, have conducted many studies on runners and their feet to give you the best possible footwear.
These Studies suggest that barefoot runners develop much stronger feet over periods of time; the natural motion (of running barefoot) builds strength, and strength means speed!
Deep "cuts" in the outsole mean your feet will flex and move the way they would if you were barefoot, and with that in mind, it will take some getting use to these shoes (how often do you run barefoot?)
NikeFree = Natural motion. Building strength. Being Free!
After learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university's golf course, three of Nike's most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless, just like bare feet. In 2002, they examined a group of men and women with pressure-measuring insoles taped to their feet, using high-speed cameras to capture images of each foot in motion.
The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of shoeless running. The results yielded a profound understanding of the foot's natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, allowing Nike designers to build an unconventional and flexible running shoe from the inside out.
