Product Details

The latest edition of Saucony's flagship shoe arrives with a fit and ride even more attuned to the needs of runners seeking stability in an everyday training shoe. A new flared forefoot design creates greater stability. The shape allows the runner to direct their foot power into their spring, creating a higher efficiency in their stride. The sole unit features triangular IBR+ pads integrated with extra flex grooves in the forefoot for better flexibility and responsiveness. Three independently responsive pods in the SRC crashpad provide a smooth, efficient transition onto the midfoot, while an updated medial support system offers extra stability and cushioning, and helps to provide a smooth transition from heel to forefoot.

For years, the Guide has been made with a 12mm heel-to-toe offset, and runners love them. So why change them to 8mm? Because the lower drop activates and engages a runner's ability to cushion, stabilise and spring forward.

The New updates include:

  • A flared forefoot design provides essential support, giving runners a more efficient spring and stride.
  • Full-length PowerGrid™ replaces the existing ProGrid. PowerGrid is 15% lighter and 30% more durable, providing greater responsiveness and cushioning.
  • Added flex grooves ensure even more flexibility.
  • A fully decoupled SRC Crashpad provides extra shock absorption and comfort.
  • The medial support system has been redesigned to create a smooth transition from the heel to the midfoot.

  • HydraMAX Collar Lining - A superior lining material that has great moisture wicking properties as well as a plush hand feel
  • SSL EVA Midsole - An advanced EVA blend that maximizes rebound and durability while minimizing weight in the shoes, giving you a comfy and cushioned ride.
  • Weight: - 283 grams

This is an ever popular Saucony shoe for the overpronator who needs support without compromising on cushioning. And now with an 8mm heel-toe drop, the shoe is even more responsive.

Saucony Technology

Saucony and other brand technology can sometimes be hard to understand. Also, what advantages do these technologies have and how can they work for you? Below is an overview explaining some of the terms you will often read about when looking at Saucony Footwear.

Grid Cushioning System:

The Saucony Grid Cushioning System was introduced in 1991, where a whole generation of runners has become addicted to the sweet ride of Grid technology. It uses woven Hytrel filaments in a grid configuration that centres the heel on impact, for a superior blend of cushioning and stability. A bit like a tennis racquet for a runner's foot, absorbing and deflecting impacts and protecting the body from the force of the road.

ProGrid Cushioning System:

When Grid technology was first introduced it was truly revolutionary. ProGrid technology is taking it one step further. It is built closer to the foot and provides greater cushioning without compromising support and durability. ProGrid is created with Respon-Tek, Saucony's latest impact deflection technology, which is made from a blend of foams and synthetic rubbers. It creates a platform that reduces shock impact whilst setting the foot up for a smooth, heel-to-toe transition.

FleXion Plate:

You find the fastest runners are those who move most efficiently from heel to toe. Flexion Plate technology actually facilitates this crucial motion, guiding the foot from heel strike to forefoot using an impact-resistant piece of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). This dampens much of the joint and bone movement in the forefoot that is caused by the high-impact forces of heel strike, allowing you to toe off with more force and less energy.

Flexionankle.jpg

Arch-Lock:

Arch.jpg

Saucony's Arch-Lock System is a simple but elegant construction method that wraps around the midfoot area and keeps it snugly in position on the midsole. By keeping the arch where it belongs, you enjoy superior comfort, control and support.

SRC:

Super Rebound Compound was born from Saucony's HRC technology. SRC in the heel reduces the shock transmitted to the body from impact, and sets the foot up for a smooth, heel-to-toe transition.

HRC:

Hrc.jpg

HRC is Saucony's premier cushioning system that uses a responsive custom compound of EVA and rubber that provides comfort through the late stages of the gait cycle as well as a smooth toe-off.

Impact Interface:

Interface1.jpg

Embedded between the EVA and the SRC (Super Rebound Compound), the Impact Interface isolates and cushions heel-strike impact so the heel can compress without bottoming out.

Comfortemp:

Comfort.jpg

Material that monitors heat/cold to keep your feet at a comfortable 28 degrees.
