Customising your fit

It is possible to reshape the heel section of inov-8 footwear by applying heat to the thermoplastic heel counter. Steam the inner heel area of the shoe with steam from a kettle (Please exercise caution when doing this) for approximately 30-60 seconds or until the heel counter softens. Put the shoes on immediately that the temperature allows, and go for a short walk or run. The polymer heel counter is a thermosetting polymer and will reform to the new heel shape for a custom fit.*

Low volume feet

If you have a narrow or slim foot we recommend you insert a 3mm volume adjuster under the standard footbed.

High volume feet

If you have a broader more bulky foot we recommend you replace the standard footbed with a 3mm footbed.

*NB. Extreme caution should be exercised when using steam and handling the heated product. This information is provided for guidance and does not constitute an agreement between you and Sportsshoes.com or inov-8. Neither inov-8 nor Sportsshoes.com can accept any liability for injuries caused.

Inov-8 lacing tips

Loop Lock Low

This system ensures a secure heel and forefoot hold. It also locks off the lacing while distributing pressure across the top two eyelets. We also recommend trying a double knot for extra security.

  1. Take the laces from above the lace webbing and feed through opposite upper eyelets from the underside.
  2. Create a loop by feeding laces through the lower eyelets on the same side.
  3. Feed the laces through the opposite loops and pull for the locking system to take affect.
  4. Create a secure fit by trying a double knot.

Klets Knot System

This system ensures a secure heel and forefoot hold. It also locks off the lacing while distributing pressure across the top two eyelets. We also recommend trying a double knot for extra security.

  1. Tie a traditional bow.
  2. Take one of the loops and thread it through the other loop.
  3. Pull on the lace which tightens loop around the threaded loop.
  4. Once tightened cut the excess ends of the laces and melt the ends to prevent fraying. Tick the longer lace away as shown above.
