Open Mesh Upper

The Asics Gel-Volley Elite 3 is constructed with an open mesh upper which provides a breathable foot environment, keeping you feeling cool and dry during a match. The overlays are based on the movements of the foot and the taping technology used by indoor athletes. Dynamic wrap supports the midfoot during fast movements and jumping and is strategically placed to guide the foot to a powerful re-supination. The Elite 3 is developed with a California slip lasting which delivers a stable and comfortable fit as the upper is stitched around a canvas or EVA board and is directly attached to the midsole. Padding in the collar and tongue delivers step-in comfort, reducing the risk of irritation and discomfort, while the traditional lace-up closure enables easy lace-up for a secure fit. Finishing off the upper is the personalised heel fit which uses 2 layers of memory foam to line the collar and moulds to the athlete's heel, creating a personalised and cushioned fit.

SpEVA Midsole

Equipped with two types of SpEVA midsole material compounds, the Elite 3 allows you to cover the court in total comfort. SpEVA midsole material improves rebound by 20% which enhances performance by transferring energy absorbed from impact with the ground to the next step. Additionally, SpEVA 55 lasting offers enhanced cushioning and comfort, keeping you going set after set. Providing that all-day comfort comes from the EVA removable sockliner which moulded to the shape of the foot for plush comfort. Placed within the shoe's midsole at key impact areas is the GEL cushioning system which works in conjunction with the midsole material to attenuate the shock experienced by the foot from vertical forces. The rearfoot GEL provides lower shock when the heel impacts on the ground, offering greater cushioning, while the forefoot GEL reduces shear forces and also helps the foot on propulsion. I.G.S Technology (Impact Guidance System) is a fundamental design philosophy around which ASICS' technical footwear is built. The aim of the I.G.S is to prompt the foot to perform in a more natural manner and is achieved primarily by encouraging the shoe to work with the foot rather than trying to control it.

AHAR+ Outsole

The Elite 3 is made up of multiple outsole material compounds. Firstly AHAR+ (Asics High Abrasion Rubber) is a tough rubber compound, used at the heavy contact points, helping to cut down on excessive wear. Additionally, N.C rubber is a material containing more natural rubber content than traditional solid rubber. It realises grip and durability at the same time, which is required in court sports, therefore improving performance in movements requiring quick turns and jumps. The propulsion plate will help you out during indoor court games as hard resin plates are used on the outer sole according to the load distribution during movements, therefore allowing efficient and smooth movements.
