Camelbak Ultra 10 Vest

Built specifically to meet the demands of the UTMB race, the Ultra 10 has been updated for 2019 to be lighter and better ventilated. The 2-litre reservoir delivers the hydration you need for self-supported runs that take you through a variety of terrain and unpredictable weather. With more than 10 litres of cargo, it's engineered to hold everything on the UTMB packing list, including food, shed layers, a headlamp, trekking poles, maps and more.

The Ultra 10 was designed to endure one of the toughest trail races on earth: the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc. The upgraded vest sees the use of even lighter materials and a 2-litre reservoir that delivers more water with every sip. The Camelbak Ultra 10 Vest is constructed with a 3D mesh vent which offers lightweight cushioning while maximising airflow and reducing the risk of chafing for a cooler, more comfortable and enjoyable run. The brand new Crux delivers 20% more water per sip, with an ergonomic handle for easier refilling, and an on/off lever that makes it easy to prevent leaks. The harness and dual sternum straps adjust for a stable, comfortable fit, and the cargo compression lets you cinch everything down to minimize bulk. This pack is designed for self-supported runs that take competitors through mountainous terrain and unpredictable weather. With more than 10 litres of cargo, the pack is engineered to hold everything on the UTMB packing list, including food, shed layers, a headlamp, trekking poles, maps and more. A secure zippered pocket offers secure storage space for your small valuable items such as phones or keys, with additional front cargo storage for easy access to gels or energy bars or a perfect place to store quick stow flasks. Stretch overflow pockets at the back and side of the vest provide storage space for larger items such as rain shells or extra layers. Trekking poles can easily be folded and fitted to the pack securely and can be easily removed even when running. Reflective details on the back keep you visible during those early mornings or late-night runs.

Cleaning your backpack

It is highly recommended that you wipe your pack with a damp cloth to remove dirt. If the pack is extremely dirty and needs a deeper cleaning, soak it in cool or warm water with a very mild soap. Rinse the pack thoroughly with cool water. If soap residue remains in the fabric, it may create suds if exposed to water or sweat. DO NOT wash your pack in a washing machine. Machine washing may damage the pack or affect the integrity of the fabric and fasteners.

Cleaning The Reservoir

The best way to care for your reservoir is to clean and dry it after every use, especially if you fill the reservoir with anything other than water. However, if a reservoir has not been cleaned after every use, and mould or discoloration develops you must follow these steps:

Use hot water and a CamelBak Cleaning Tablet. (Or use 2 tablespoons of baking soda or bleach instead of CamelBak Cleaning Tab.) Mix the solution inside your reservoir and elevate the reservoir above the tube and Big Bite Valve. Pinch the bite valve, allowing the solution to flow into the drink tube and fill the bite valve. Let the reservoir and cleaning solution sit in the reservoir and drink tube for about 30 minutes. Wash the reservoir with hot water and mild soap. Be sure to completely rinse away the cleaning solution in the reservoir and drink tube before using again.

You can also use CamelBak brushes from the Cleaning Kit to scrub your reservoir and drink tube. Brushes are the best way to ensure you are scrubbing all of the areas of the reservoir clean. Once the reservoir is clean, be sure to air dry overnight so no moisture is trapped inside, which can cause mould to grow.

These steps will make your reservoir safe for use. If there are still spots left behind, these are permanent mold stains that may not be removable. However, your reservoir is still safe and usable after you've cleaned it.
