Yak Leather Upper

Constrcuted using a Yak leather crafted in Ecco's own tanneries the Ecco Biom C-Trail offer a wider range of protection to help you gain the maximum from your footwear. The leather upper keeps the feet protected from debris and sharp objects as well as minimising the risks of wear and tear. Yak Leather is highly robust, abrasion-resistant yet highly breathable allowing you to remain cool and comfortable at all times. The breathable nature of the fabric increase ventilation ensuring your feet can breathe easy as you power through on hot and humid days. As well as this, the leather offers a soft hand feel and excellent stretch and return traits. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. A sporty textile lining has also been used in the upper to provide increased comfort and breathability. The soft nature of the fabric sits comfortably agaisnt the skin whilst also ensure ample airflow so your feet have a perfect microclimate to thrive. Ecco's unique Biom X-Tensa technology has been used on the midfoot of the upper to ensure a secure and supportive fit. Biom X-Tensa Technology extends over the bridge of the foot for a secure fit, reducing space between your foot and the shoe to save you energy. Ensures strength and support the X-Tensa in the midfoot unites with the lacing system to provide a locked-down fit. Completing the upper is a fast lacing system which allows for quick and easy adjustments on the go.

Phorene Midsole

Within the midsole, an ultralight Phorene composition increases shock absorption and comfort by provides a plush underfoot feel. Sparing your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces, the midsole ensures you can go further for longer. By inundating shocks, phorene works to protect you when striking down and also disperses the shocks to propel you forward. Phorene also provides ample cushioning to ensure a comfortable hike, the midsole follows the natural contours of the foot provide a dynamic fit and feel. Fluidform has also been used within the midsole to enhance flexibility so you can continue with quality and comfort. Fluidform technology forms a comfortable base around the boot that ensures optimal support and improves cushioning so you feel comfortable on all adventures. Anatomically designed to fit perfectly, the Biom C-Trail has been constructed using ECCO's own 3D last that follow the natural contours of the foot to increase overall comfort. ECCO's signature comfort comes from maintaining the anatomical integrity of the foot within the boot and generating a durable, supple and integral bond between the midsole and its leather upper. BIOM technology has also been used within the midsole to promote natural movements through anatomical support. The more natural your foot moves the less likely it is to feel fatigued or develop injuries.

All-Year Rubber Outsole

Developed to provide lightweight cushioning and grip, the outsole of the Biom C-Trail uses a durable rubber outsole. Ensuring multi-directional grip the outsole ensures traction on varied terrain ensuring confident footing whether you're hiking or out for a leisurely stroll in the local park. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. It is also highly durable meaning no matter what you throw at it, the C-Trail will perform time and time again. A rugged tread pattern has also been used on the outsole to provide traction and stability on all terrain. The full ground contact outsole ensures secure footing and stability for traction and grip on hiking paths with loose ground. About Ecco

Karl Toosbury- the founder of ECCO- had a vision. He wanted to own a shoe factory and run his own business. Trained from an early age as a shoemaker, he gradually rose through the ranks. By his early thirties he was managing a shoe factory in Copenhagen. The business however, was not his.

The family decided to give up the security of a regular job, sold their home and moved to Bredebro in the west of Denmark. Karl then took over a empty factory, and sent out an ad asking "Who wants us?"

By the end of the year 74 people were employed and Karl's vision unfolded.
