Hoka EVO Mafate 2 Women's Trail Running Shoes

The second instalment of the EVO Mafate helps you take on the trails in style, comfort and protection. With lightweight cushioning, supreme grip and outstanding durability, these shoes will be your ideal companion on all your hard worked miles.

Lightweight Mesh Upper

Using Hoka's developed Martyx technology, the upper part of the shoe is made from a durable and thin material. The material sits gently above the foot, moulding to the shape of it. This secures the foot into place, meaning that it doesn't move around within the shoe. This reduced the risk of injury from a rolling or slipping inside the shoe. A steady airflow is allowed in and out of the mesh upper, keeping the feet ventilated and cool. A thicker material covers the toe to protect it from bumps and knocks, whilst the heel also is held into place by strong walls. Up the foot laces and a padded tongue make finding a secure and comfortable fit an easy task. Padding around the tongue and the back of the heel reduce the risk of irritation caused by rubbing.

EVA Midsole

A larger and more extended midsole than usual for a trail shoe, the EVO Mafate gives you cushioning and support for mile after mile. Shocks underfoot are absorbed instantly. This stops any impact or pressure from reaching the sole of the foot. There are two different types EVA layered in the midsole. The first and top one is designed to create a soft feel underfoot. The bottom layer delivers a responsive and springy rebound across all parts of the foot. In direct contact with the foot, there is a soft sock liner. Over time, this the sock liner, which is long lasting and moisture wicking, moulds to the shape of your foot for a unique and personalised fit. Rubberised foam within the midsole and outsole provide a responsiveness ride and resistance to compression so your feet have all the help they need on more technical trails.

Vibram MegaGrip Outsole

When running on rough, uneven and slippery terrain, the Vibram MegaGrip outsole is designed to make a solid connection between shoe and ground. Hoka have teamed up with Vibram in using this newly produced sole creates an unparalleled traction on wet and dry surfaces. Long-lasting durability run for many miles across all landscapes and expect the same level of traction and appearance at the end. Multi-directional lugs dig into surfaces for further anchoring and act as a solid base for take-offs, braking and changes of direction. The overall strength to the shoe formed by the solid structure of the sole. Tough rubber withstands heavy bumps from downhill steps on hard ground, meaning that the shoe will retain shape and protect the feet.

Who Are HOKA One One

Hoka One One is the brainchild of two gravity sports enthusiasts Jean-Luc Diard and Nicolas Mermoud. Both men have been adventuring for as long as they can remember, and their trail running experiences have taken them across the globe. Both Jean-Luc and Nicolas are committed to the values of freedom and enjoyment and feel that this is part of the running experience whether running on the trail or in the city. With this in mind they started to look at the variables that affected the performance of different types of runners. They quickly came to an important conclusion; fatigue, impacts and muscle strains were challenges that runners of all stripes had to deal with every day. So Jean-Luc and Nicolas came up with a brilliant idea, why not design a shoe that would help to alleviate these problems - so that freedom and enjoyment could be guaranteed every time you go running! From that idea Hoka One One was born. The word Hoka is derived from the ancient Maori language and roughly translated to "now it is time to fly". That's just how it feels to run in a pair of Hoka One One shoes; with each and every step, your foot flies. Today's runners from around the world are learning about the benefits of Hoka One One, they have been used by marathon winners. 50 miles, 100 miles and even 2000+ miles ultra-runners as well as runners just like you or I, who want to enjoy running, perform at their peak and feel that important sense of freedom whilst maintaining top physical performance and protecting against shocks, jolts and injuries. So put your best foot forward, it's time to fly!
