Conceptualised, designed and engineered to yield only the highest quality in protection, breathability and thermal regulation; the Montane Prism Sleeping Bag packs a hefty technical weight to its construction. The face fabric utilised is the highly advanced PERTEX® Microlight Mini Rip-stop, representing a fusion of advanced fabric technologies; providing the bag with exceptional breathability (1.0cc max (JIS L 1096 / ASTM D737) and abrasion resistance (40,000+ at 12.5k PA (BS EN ISO 12947-2)).

Generating the thermal qualities that set the Prism apart an exceptionally high quality PRIMALOFT® SILVER ECO Insulation provides the bulk insulation. The immediate benefit of synthetic insulation is that is is better suited to changing, hostile environments. Retaining its thermal efficiency even when wet and bears excellent fast drying properties, whilst being wind and water resistant and mimics the compression of down. Working alongside the insulation a PEAQ Synthetic liner offers the highest levels of comfort next to the skin, whilst also boasting fast dying and high breathability; an ideal component for outdoor travel.

To ensure complete comfort and effective heat regulation the Prism features an anatomical design and a profusion of specially thought out aspects. The body shape features an anatomically designed cut that tapers around the lower legs and contours around the shoulders, creating a comfortable, secure and snug fit for the wearer. Preventing the insulation from migrating and ensuring complete coverage of the upper body side walls on the upper bag ensure there is insulation around the shoulders and head area whilst sleeping on the side.

The footbox is another element that has been focused upon through the design of the Prism, the flipper shape is tapered from the knees down to the ankles, with the specific function of facilitating in the reduction of cold spots and to accommodate for an upright foot position.

The upper bag benefits from years of MONTANE® construction experience to afford a high quality piece of technical fabric engineering and construction, with particular regard to the award-winning technical mountaineering jacket hood design. Intelligent design has benefited from the creation of a specialist Hood shaping to prevent down migration and to limit cold spots. Split, colour coded face drawcords allow for controlling and adjusting the volume individually around upper and lower face, each drawcord is easily accessed from inside the sleeping bag

Completing the anatomical aspects and meticulous design the the neck baffle has been specifically crafted to contour and hug the complete circumference of the neck, the incorporation of draw cords within the baffles themselves allows for ease of adjustment and draws insulation closer to the neck.

When it comes to the more common zip elements in bags Montane have spared no quarter in their approach to provide the best. The main zip is compromised of a ½ length YKK VISLON® zip that is angled away from the shoulder to prevent body contact whilst the user is sleeping on the side and allow easier internal access. The Two way YKK VISLON® zip creates easy lower access or ventilation whilst zip is drawn up, this allows the wearer to determine their own level of ventilation throughout the night. To allow quick access in poor lighting conditions the zip glows in the dark, which can also accommodate ease of location throughout the night. Finished with a full locking zip head to avert any accidental opening.
