The Merino 250 Baselayer from Smartwool features a flatlock seam construction that is designed to eliminate chafing. This unique construction of the top enhances comfort and prevents dreaded skin irritation while exercising. In addition, Shoulder panels have been added that eliminate the top shoulder seams which in turn eliminate chafing and irritation on the shoulders that can be caused by packs.

Furthermore, the top offers a back body seam that wraps around the wearer for a body enhancing fit. This works in tandem with the set in sleeves to allows freedom of movement without you encountering any restrictions. The Merino wool that resides within the construction adds the benefits that you would receive from merino, for example, excellent warmth. Merino is superb at retaining heat and regulating body temperature, keeping you toasty when the temperature starts to drop. Additionally, Merino is naturally antimicrobial meaning it prevents the growth of odour causing microbes, keeping your gear smelling fresher for longer.

Lastly, Merino is excellently moisture wicking meaning this top will work endlessly to wick sweat and excess moisture as it's produced. Once wicked the Merino then transfers the moisture to the outer layers of the fabric where it can be easily evaporated, keeping you dry and comfortable.
