Sprayway Maxen GORE-TEX Jacket

With supreme durable waterproofing, down to the GORE-TEX membrane covering the jacket, don't let the wind and the rain stop you from your outdoor pursuits.

Designed to provide comfort in all the elements, the outside of the jacket has a two-layer GORE-TEX membrane. This durable layer provides supreme waterproofing, which will make sure that you will always stay dry in light or heavy rain. When clothes get wet, the body loses heat, and by removing any chance of the jacket from letting moisture come into contact with the skin, this will ensure that the body retains heat. As well as being protected from moisture, the fabric is also windproof, which means that heavy gusts are blocked from reaching the skin, which would also make you begin to feel cold. As the body begins to sweat, or when you start to overheat, the fabric allows there to be a steady airflow in and out of the jacket, which will work to keep the body feeling cool and comfortable. Inside the jacket there is a mesh and taffeta combination. This lining will provide you with all-day comfort, as the soft feel of the material will sit comfortably on the skin. In addition to this, the seams are flat-lying, which will prevent any irritation from rubbing or chafing from occurring. The hem has an adjustable drawcord, which makes tightening and loosening to size easy to achieve. This can be adjusted to make it more comfortable, or to block wind from entering the jacket and causing discomfort. A fully adjustable hood with a wired peak is quick and easy to use, so when the rain starts to fall, you can shape the hood and cover your head quickly and with little hassle. Velcro cuffs on the wrist mean that you can tighten and loosen them to retain heat, as well as changing them if they are causing you discomfort. On the sides, there are two mesh lined venting pockets. As well as providing a place to store small items, air is able to escape from within the jacket out through the pockets, which will work to keep you feeling fresh and cool. There is an additional pocket inside the jacket, where you can stash small but more valuable items for extra security.

About SPRAYWAY

Founded in 1974 by two outdoor enthusiasts in Manchester, England the brand quickly became one of Britain's leading outdoor clothing companies. Sprayway has been keeping the British public warm, dry and comfortable in all conditions ever since. From humble beginnings out of a garage in Chorlton, Manchester; to kitting out arctic explorers and National Park rangers. Sprayway has been keeping the British public warm, dry and comfortable since 1974.

John Hunt and Simon Wright initially began making sailing clothing as a natural extension of their passion for competitive dinghy sailing. They were also keen mountaineers and recognised a lack of solid, durable and waterproof climbing clothing at the time. Driven on by the famous Manchester climate surrounding them, the two began manufacturing coated waterproof jackets. By 1982 the brand had launched its first GORE-TEX jacket, the Snipe and in 1983 became the first company to machine tape non-GORE-TEX waterproof clothing, named the Hydro-dry range. Hydro-dry remains an integral technology to this day.

Now in its 40th year, the SPRAYWAY brand continues to use innovative fabrics across a wide range of products and continues to produce garments which utilise cutting edge technology whilst remaining true to their Mancunian roots.
