The 'Most Searched For Running Shoes' around the World

More and more of us are turning to pounding the pavements for our daily exercise. Worldwide searches in April for "best running shoes" and "running shoes" were up by 106% and 163% respectively, whilst searches for "stretches before running" have seen a massive 300% increase.

With so many of us looking to take up running as we move into the warmer months, we wanted to find out the most popular running shoes in each country – to provide the ultimate inspiration for anyone looking for a brand-new pair to rack up the miles with.

The interactive map above reveals the most searched for running shoes around the world. Simply click on the country to reveal a pop-up box detailing the top five most searched for running shoes in that nation.

In total, we looked at 40 different countries for this piece of research, from Argentina to Russia and everything in between. The fascinating findings show the go-to models for hitting the pavements, whether that be through the streets of London, along Australia’s Gold Coast or even on the banks of the Seine.

The Top 10 Most Searched for Shoes

In order to work out the top running shoes, we analysed current search data for 65 different shoe models. We looked at how many monthly searches there were for each shoe model in each of the 40 countries chosen, as well as the number of worldwide searches for each shoe, in order to determine the world’s most popular running shoes.

Worldwide, the data revealed the adidas Ultraboost as the number one most searched for shoe with 32 out of 40 countries searching for the model the most and a whopping 327,000 monthly searches worldwide. Hot on its heels was the Nike React with 121,000 monthly searches, making it the second most searched for shoe around the world. In fact six of the top 10 most searched for running shoes come from Nike.

Whilst these findings serves as excellent inspiration, it’s important to consider that when it comes to running shoes, there isn’t a one-size fits all approach. What works for someone else, may not work for you.
