Altra Superior 7 Men's Trail Running Shoes

Nimble, quick, and lightweight, if you want to feel connected to the trail, look no further. As a classic shoe in Altra's trail-running repertoire, they've made thoughtful tweaks to help enhance your comfort and connection to the trail.

Mesh Upper

The Superior 7 utilises a mesh upper construction, making it a highly breathable and comfortable shoe. Keeping you cool and ready to tackle the trail, micro-perforations allow heat and vapour to escape while encouraging fresh air to circulate for a pleasant cooling sensation. This keeps your feet fresh and comfortable so you can stay focused. Lightweight overlays reinforce the shoe, making them abrasion-resistant while protecting the foot from sharp rocks and debris on the trail. The Natural Standard FootShape toe box provides room for natural toe flex, giving you greater stability and comfort. For improved comfort, Altra has used a new tongue construction that reduces lace pressure for a better feel on top of the foot as you run. The 7th edition has also received an upgraded lace-up construction, which now features a ghillie lacing system for an improved fit, preventing in-shoe movement. Finally, a GAITERTRAP hook-and-loop tab allows strapless gaiter attachment, preventing debris from building up beneath the shoe. Having a gaiter attached helps to prevent debris ingress.

Altra EGO Midsole

An EGO midsole has been used to add cushioning and flexibility, ideal for trail running. Maintaining the same stack height of 21mm as its predecessors, Altra has provided a foam with all the cushioning and durability needed to take on any trail. The midsole's construction provides the shoe with extremely responsive rebound and cushioning compared to standard EVA. This protects your feet and improves rebound. The cushioning sits directly under the foot, reducing ground impact and returning energy as a spring in your step. Altra's Balanced Cushioning technology means your feet rest on the midsole in a zero-drop platform. The heel and the forefoot are the same distance from the ground, encouraging proper low-impact form throughout your trail run.

MaxTrac Outsole

Completing the Superior 7 is a new and improved MaxTrac rubber outsole. Combining sticky grip and traction with incredible durability, the MaxTrac rubber outsole will have you navigating the trickiest terrain easily. With a refined outsole lug shape and placement, the shoes offer added grip compared to the Superior 6. New tooling across the outsole improves the shoe's flexibility, allowing for increased control and better ground feel.
