Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% 4 Women's Running Shoes

The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. Nike has trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper from the Vaporfly 3 without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-around racing shoe trusted from the mile to the marathon.

Engineered Mesh Upper

Utilising the lightest technologies Nike has to offer, the Upper on the Vaporfly 4 proves to be ultra lightweight. This offers improved comfort and a barely-there feel, minimising any distraction from irritation during vital races. The improved Vaporfly has great breathability to keep you feeling fresh for long periods of time, air circulation is maximised by the perforations within the upper, allowing warm air to escape as the foot flexes. Weight has been saved through the reduction in the tongue and heel, making them faster than their predecessors. The flat-laying tongue and collar further minimise irritation for the ankle, whilst the traditional lacing system ensures the midfoot is locked down for a secure fit all the way up to the finish line. A heel tab finishes the upper to allow for quick slip-on assistance.

ZoomX Midsole

Showcasing their most lightweight and responsive foam, the Vaporfly 4 unlocks even more energy return than before. With outstanding shock absorption, ZoomX foam has a forgiving feel for rearfoot landings and long-haul efforts. Springy foam helps to maximise speed, through soaking up impact and turning this into extreme energy return to propel you towards your next PB. By reducing the size slightly from the predecessors, Nike shaves grams off of the Vaporfly 4 to create a weightless feel underfoot. Sandwiched between two layers of the ZoomX foam, a full length carbon-fibre Fly plate is located, sitting underfoot this provides you with a snappy, propulsive race day feel while giving you added stability over the miles. This enhances your performance, providing even more propulsion than before.

Durable Rubber Outsole

Further minimising bulk to keep weight to a minimum, the outsole on the Vaporfly 4 is as durable as the 3, however, in a thinner structure. This provides you with the same reliability expected from Nike's race day shoes but at a lighter weight. Providing optimal grip and traction on roads whether dry or rain-slicked, the durable outsole keeps you secure with the ground below. Strategically placed across the forefoot and heel of the sole, the rubber compound offers a strong grip whilst protecting you from the hard pavements below.
