Protective Synthetic Upper
The Salomon XA Collider 2 Trail Running Shoes deliver a lightweight and breathable upper that gives a generous fit for comfortable wear. The new oversize toe cap will give you extra confidence on uneven ground as your toes are able to flex and help balance the foot thanks to greater proprioception. The upper keeps you on track as it does not weigh you down or allow your foot to overheat. The reinforced push-bumper toe cap helps provide great stability with that locked-in feel, as well as providing protection from loose rocks and debris you might encounter out on the trail. The upper is completed with a GORE-TEX membrane that offers ultimate waterproof protection. The membrane effectively blocks external water and moisture from entering the shoe, whilst simultaneously allowing built up moisture, vapour and heat to escape from inside the shoe. This ensures your feet stay dry and fresh, so you can focus on your performance.
EnergyCell Midsole
The midsole is constructed from EVA in the form of the EnergyCell midsole, which provides excellent shock-absorbing properties to help protect the foot from shock and impact force. This multi-functional midsole provides both comfort and protection thanks to the dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which absorbs shocks instantly and effectively, reducing stress and strain on joints and muscles. Energy produced on foot strike is channelled and returned as light, bouncy rebounds which give you an added spring in your step and helps you go further as less energy is wasted. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed for comfortable cushioning and softness.
Contagrip Outsole
The lightweight construction is packed with outdoor essentials - including extra grip from the optimised Contagrip outsole - to keep you moving freely. This Contagrip rubber outsole provides durability and traction on the trail and allows you to continue with confidence when the track becomes uneven or wet making the shoe perfect for trail running and off-road adventures.
