ASICS Metaspeed Sky Tokyo Men's Running Shoes

Motion Wrap 3.0 Upper
Improving on their predecessors, the Metaspeed Sky Tokyo features a newly updated Motion Wrap 3.0, to keep things secure, lightweight and breathable, so you can focus on the run ahead. The upper wraps around your foot, providing you with a sock-like fit and feel, for flexibility and freedom of movement. Thanks to its unique, thin design, the materials facilitate a steady air flow that ensures continuous breathability and ventilation, helping you stay comfortable and active for longer. The no-sew construction promotes targeted airflow while eliminating the risk of irritation from rubbing and chafing. Support is offered to the forefoot and rearfoot as the material thickens, protecting vulnerable areas of the feet whilst a flat-lying tongue prevents irritation. Completing the upper of the Metaspeed Sky is a traditional lace-up construction, allowing you to keep your foot locked down and secure inside the shoes.
At least 50% of the shoe's main upper material is made with recycled content to reduce waste and carbon emissions.
FF Turbo Plus and FF Leap Midsole
Updated with a lighter-than-ever FF Turbo Plus in the top layer of the midsole, the Metaspeed Sky helps to generate an exceptional response, to help you go and feel a lot faster. Upon every step, the midsole compresses before quickly snapping back to its original shape to give you an explosive response. The midsole will also provide cushioning to take the weight off the joints, like the knees and ankles. This will reduce injuries, prevent fatigue, and instantly absorb impacts with the ground, thereby preventing uncomfortable forces. Featuring on the bottom layer of the foam is the newly updated FF Leap cushioning, which is super bouncy and lightweight for optimum underfoot comfort. With exceptional energy return, the midsole propels you forward and improves cushioning under the forefoot for enjoyable runs and long-lasting comfort. This new configuration enhances the foam's responsiveness and improves stability during the landing phase of your stride. Running through the centre is a carbon plate which is placed from the midfoot towards the front to add structure while guiding the foot and propelling the body forward, allowing you to conserve more energy and help maintain your pace at the races' later stages. The carbon plate is wider and positioned higher in the forefoot than in previous versions, and alongside a thicker midsole in the toes, the shoes have more cushioning for more energy return and an extended stride length. This will help you to kick through the 30km wall and maintain your pace during the later stages of your race. A sockliner sits atop the midsole, providing even more cushioning and a comfortable stride. The sockliner is produced using the solution dyeing process that reduces water usage by approximately 33% and carbon emissions by approximately 45% compared to the conventional dyeing technology.
ASICSGRIP Outsole
Outstanding grip and traction are guaranteed with the ASICSGRIP outsole. Keeping you anchored to the ground beneath will improve efficiency, making every second count. The rubber can form a solid grip on surfaces beneath you for complete control in all conditions. Additionally, the rubber is extremely tough and abrasion-resistant, which means it will maintain its shape and definition over a long period. The outsole's design will also provide further traction, as it will dig in to provide further control.
