ASICS Metaspeed Ray Tokyo Men's Running Shoes
The Metaspeed Ray is ASICS' pinnacle racing product, designed for runners who are looking to start fast and finish faster. The newly designed FF Leap foam is super lightweight and bouncy. It's strategically positioned in the midsole to help promote a powerful energy return in each step. This shoe is formed with a minimal and lighter carbon plate. It's designed to help propel you forward, allowing you to maintain your pace in the later stages of the race.
MATRYX Upper
Offering enhanced breathability and comfort, the upper of the Metaspeed Ray has been constructed using a MATRYX upper. The upper wraps around your foot, providing you with a sock-like fit and feel, for flexibility and freedom of movement. The material encourages cool air to circulate, whilst at the same time, removing unwanted warm air to control temperature and create a perfect microclimate where feet can thrive. The no-sew construction eliminates the risk of irritation from rubbing and chafing, while the flat-laying tongues sit comfortably against the foot to further increase comfort. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system which locks the midfoot for a secure fit while preventing in-shoe slippage.
FF Leap Midsole
Utilising a brand new foam, the Metaspeed Ray has been designed using a full FF Leap midsole, which is super bouncy and lightweight for optimum underfoot comfort. Upon every step, the midsole compresses before quickly snapping back to its original shape to give you an explosive response. The midsole will also provide cushioning to take the weight off the joints, like the knees and ankles. This will reduce injuries, prevent fatigue, and instantly absorb impacts with the ground, thereby preventing uncomfortable forces. With exceptional energy return, the midsole propels you forward and improves cushioning under the forefoot for enjoyable runs and long-lasting comfort. Running through the midsole is a carbon plate, which is placed from the midfoot towards the front to add structure while guiding the foot and propelling you forward, allowing you to conserve more energy and help maintain your pace during later stages of your race. The carbon plate is lighter than previous models and positioned higher in the forefoot. The shoes have more cushioning for more energy return and an extended stride length. This will help you to kick through and maintain your pace during the final moments of your race. A sockliner sits atop the midsole, providing even more cushioning and a comfortable stride. The sockliner is produced using the solution dyeing process that reduces water usage by approximately 33% and carbon emissions by approximately 45% compared to the conventional dyeing technology.
ASICSGRIP Outsole
Completing the Metaspeed Ray is an ASICSGRIP rubber outsole, which provides outstanding grip and traction in both dry and wet conditions. Keeping you anchored to the ground will improve efficiency, making every second count. The rubber forms a solid grip to the ground for complete control in all conditions. Additionally, the rubber is extremely tough and abrasion-resistant, which means it will maintain its shape and definition over a long period. The outsole's design will also provide further traction, as it will dig in to provide further control.
