Montane Hydrogen Direct Jacket
Montane pioneered the use of PERTEX® and fleece pile linings 20 years ago to create a micro-climate to regulate body temperature and move moisture whilst active. The Hydrogen Direct Jacket takes inspiration from our heritage whilst harnessing the latest in cutting edge Alpha Direct insulation technology from POLARTEC. With a windproof PERTEX QUANTUM AIR outer shell, the Hydrogen Direct Jacket provides a perfect blend of insulation, wind protection and breathability in one unique package.
Construction
The Hydrogen Direct Jacket uses a high air permeable Pertex Quantum Air Fill which has an open structure and enables the encased insulation to breathe fully. Polartec Alpha Direct fleece is also added inside of the jacket which provides a warm but lightweight insulation layer. The fleece is also extremely soft against the skin for a fully comfortable wear. The powerful wicking properties of this fabric allow the garment to draw excess sweat and moisture away from the skin and moves it to outer fabric layers where it can be easily evaporated, leaving the wearer feeling cool, dry and comfortable.
Patterning And Design
Montane have created a lightweight Pertex-Fleece package which is used on this jacket and is highly suited to fast active mountain pursuits from dry and cold ice climbing conditions to clammy winter routes. The articulated arms allow full freedom of movement and help to prevent the wearer feeling uncomfortable and restricted. The hem is specifically tailored to stay in place which can prevent cold air getting inside of the jacket and warm air being released.
Hood And Pocket Configuration
The hood is fully adjustable to allow the wearer the exact fit they require and is fully compatible with a climbing helmet. The hood is also insulated to keep the head and neck area warm like the rest of the body. Two concealed hand pockets have been added to the jacket which works as a compartment to place your hands on windy days to protect them from the cold weather. The pockets also work as storage space for essential items you may require on your journeys. These pockets are finished with YKK reverse coil zips which are extremely hard wearing and stay securely in place to ensure essentials remain secure. One external pocket has been added to the left side of the chest which provides easily accessible storage space for small essentials.
Center Front Zip
The center front zip uses a full-length YKK Vislon Zip which allows easy access to climbing or rucksack harness. A storm flap has been placed behind the zip which uses press studs at the hem to secure the flap and to prevent weather entry. A roll over chin guard has been added to the top of the zipper which is lined with brushed fine micro fleece for comfort next to the mouth and chin.
Cuff, Sleeve And Hem Construction
The Sleeve cuffs are made with stretch bound seams which provide a snug and secure fit as well as preventing heat loss, ideal for colder training days. The hem of this jacket is adjustable and uses a two-sided pinchable drawcord which is super easy to use and adjust, allowing the wearer to choose the fit around the hem for a fully comfortable wear.
