Synthetic and Textile Upper

Constructed using a synthetic and textile upper, the Elixir Activ allows cool air to circulate whilst enabling warm, uncomfortable air to escape to help regulate temperature so you remain comfy during long hikes. The materials used are also exceptionally durable and provide optimal protection from rocks and uneven surfaces. To ensure feet remain dry and protected during your long adventures, the shoes utilise a GORE-TEX membrane. The GORE-TEX membrane is exceptionally waterproof, to prevent water from seeping through the fabrication, therefore preventing feet from becoming uncomfortable and wet. The shoes utilise Salomon's SensiFit construction to provide you with a strong, precise foothold, meaning in-show slipping is prevented, and feet remain comfortable from the first step. The shoes have a soft, padded tongue and collar, meaning the shoes further provide your feet with a comfortable, plush, foot-hugging hold. This will also prevent irritation from being caused, whilst a traditional lace-up construction further reduces in-shoe slipping, and keeps feet secure in the shoes.

fuzeFOAM Midsole

Within the midsole, the shoe features fuzeFOAM technology to provide excellent cushioning and comfort. This multi-functional midsole provides both comfort and protection. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. The energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. The shoes use an Active Chassis to provide you with guidance and lateral support on rocky or tricky terrain, alongside a Reverse Camber, curved midsole design for smooth transitions and a natural gait cycle. An Ortholite sockliner also exists underfoot to provide the foot with a cushioned and cooler environment, reducing the risk of irritation or chafing caused by rubbing.

Contagrip Outsole

Ensuring long-lasting grip, the outsole has been constructed using Contagrip. The outsole utilises an all-surface rubber compound and a strategic lug pattern for a confident grip on both wet and dry surfaces. The full rubber outsole provides premium traction on loose terrain, ensuring a solid bond between you and the ground. The durable rubber used on the outsole of the boot is abrasion-resistant, which will prevent any damage from occurring over a long period exposed to hard ground. The rubber compound offers a higher density of rubber in high-impact areas of the outsole where the most wear occurs throughout the miles. This helps reduce the wear and tear, allowing you to run harder and for longer.
