FIRST LOOK: adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2: One of the Lightest, Fastest Racers Gets an Upgrade
ㅤ
On 28th August, adidas is set to launch one of the lightest and fastest racing shoes on the market, the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2, landing at SportsShoes 9am.
ㅤ
This is the second iteration in the Pro Evo line, following last year’s debut model: the Evo 1, famously worn by Tigst Assefa when she stormed to a women’s marathon world record in 2:25:50, as well as Britain's Emile Cairess when he finished fourth place in the marathon at the Paris Olympics. With that kind of pedigree, the Evo 2 arrives with plenty to prove.
ㅤ
ㅤ
Light as Ever, Faster Than Before
ㅤ
At just 138 g, the Evo 2 matches the Evo 1’s remarkable featherweight status - making it not only the lightest shoe in the Adizero franchise, but one of the lightest elite marathon shoes on the market. The difference? adidas has taken that speed-focused formula and dialled up both responsiveness and grip.
ㅤ
What’s New in the Pro Evo 2?
ㅤ
1. Enhanced Midsole & Geometry
ㅤ
+3 mm forefoot stack height: Now at 36 mm in the forefoot (up from 33 mm), with the heel holding at 39 mm. This lowers the drop from ~6 mm to ~3 mm, encouraging a more forward, efficient stride.
ㅤ
5% boost in energy return: The added foam isn’t just for comfort, adidas claims it delivers measurably higher rebound than the Evo 1.
ㅤ
ㅤ
2. Redesigned Outsole for Better Traction
ㅤ
New grid-style rubber forefoot: Improved grip, especially on wet roads, without compromising the shoe’s ultra-light build.
ㅤ
ㅤ
3. Maintained Lightweight Construction
ㅤ
Same 138 g weight: Despite added foam and outsole updates, the Evo 2 remains as light as its predecessor.
ㅤ
ㅤ
4. Refined Upper & Stability Enhancements
ㅤ
A slightly more open mesh upper for breathability
ㅤ
Firmer heel counter for a locked-in feel
ㅤ
Extra collar padding for comfort over marathon distance
ㅤ
ㅤ
Adizero Pro Evo 2
ㅤ
The adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2 is a thoughtful evolution - by improving cushioning, traction, and stability while keeping its astonishingly low weight, adidas Adizero has kept everything that made the Evo 1 a record-setter and fine-tuned it for even greater race-day performance.
ㅤ
Available 28th August at SportsShoes, this premium-priced, pure-performance racer is designed for one thing: to win.
