REVIEW: NNormal Tomir 2.0
The ultimate combination of performance & style.
ㅤ
The shoe NNormal Tomir 2.0 was born from listening to the feedback from the NNormal community and aims to enhance all your trail running and outdoor experiences.
We’ve put the NNormal Tomir 2.0 to the test: Our Spanish ambassador, Arnau Fullana, has tried them on over some training miles and shares what he thinks about the NNormal trail running shoe. This shoe is designed specifically for long-ultra trail distances and features a deeper 5mm lug for more aggressive grip on extreme off-road surfaces.

First impressions
ㅤ
When I opened the box of the NNormal Tomir 2.0 I loved the green, black and grey colour combination with a bold green sole. They offer a secure and comfortable feel thanks to their well-structured chassis. Another aspect that caught my attention was the sole, when you touch it with your hand, you can feel the grip that these shoes offer.
ㅤ
ㅤ
The Upper
ㅤ
The Tomir 2.0 upper is made of a ripstop material, a mix of a monofilament polyester and high resistance TPE. This material has quick drying conditions and offers good ventilation, although not the best in my opinion. In addition, it has been reinforced with durable nylon threads to prevent delamination of the midsole platform. The knurled lacing system (also used in the Nike Vaporfly) prevents easy loosening of the laces, contributing to a secure and comfortable fit. They also have an auxiliary upper hole that provides extra support to the ankle, a detail especially appreciated by those of us who have problems with sprains.
ㅤ
ㅤ
Midsole
ㅤ
The midsole has been updated with the new EExpure supercritical foam compound, which is lighter, softer and more reactive than the EVA used in the Tomir 1.0. This CO2-infused foam provides increased cushioning and energy return, which significantly improves comfort on long runs. With this new compound, NNormal aims to give a more pleasant feel without compromising the stability and technicality of the shoe.
ㅤ
The outsole
ㅤ
ㅤ
The Tomir 2.0 outsole uses Vibram Megagrip Litebase compound with a 5mm lug pattern and Traction Lug technology. This technology improves traction by 25%, offering exceptional grip, giving us that extra bit of security in the most technical areas, both dry and wet conditions.
ㅤ
Fit & Feel
ㅤ
The Tomir 2.0 offers a precise fit and has a standard width, suitable for most runners. They weigh approximately 294 grams for the 8.5 size, making them lightweight despite their maximalist design.
On my first runs, they feel a bit stiffer compared to other models of the same range, such as Hoka Speedgoat or New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro. However, once broken into, they offer great comfort and excellent fit. The NNormal are reminiscent of models from Salomon or La Sportiva, with slightly more robust uppers, but with greater durability.
Performance
ㅤ
Recommended for medium to heavy runners (up to 95 kg), the Tomir 2.0 is ideal for those looking to run at medium to slow paces. These shoes are perfect for both training and racing on all types of terrain, even the most technical ones. They can be used by people who are looking to complete a half marathon at light paces, as well as by those who are aiming for ultra-distance races of 50 to 60 km or even more.
ㅤ
Sustainability
ㅤ
NNormal advocates for sustainability, so in this section I analyse whether Kilian Jornet's brand complies with these values. This includes a wide range of decisions, from the choice of suppliers to the selection of the Asian manufacturer, creating the most durable shoes possible, and using low pollution materials at all levels (glues, dyes, etc.). If you are a person who cares about the environment, NNormal offers you a plus in this aspect, although, as in everything, there is always room for improvement and I am sure that NNormal will continue to develop.
Although NNormal has gone to some lengths to choose an environmentally friendly manufacturer, the chosen factory in Vietnam uses only 3.5% local materials, which means that the materials to make the shoes have to be transported from other countries. It may seem like a minor detail, but if you care so much about sustainability, you should ask the manufacturer to use the factory with more local suppliers to reduce transport pollution.
NNormal also promotes that its shoes are reused to extend their lifespan. This decision significantly reduces pollution, as reuse is the most efficient way to reduce the footprint we leave on this planet.

ㅤ
Conclusion
ㅤ
The NNormal Tomir 2.0 is an excellent choice for trail runners looking for stability and durability. With its robust design, durable upper, and high traction outsole, this shoe is suitable for all types of terrain. The new EExpure midsole significantly improves comfort and reactivity, making them suitable for long distances.
