The Moab Speed 2 is the latest innovation in hiking from Merrell. This new and improved generation of hiking shoes pairs the knowledge and trail insights from the best-selling hiking boot, the Moab, with the latest innovations from athletic hikers across the globe.
Breathable Mesh Upper
Featuring a highly breathable mesh, the upper of the Moab Speed 2 provides excellent airflow to keep temperatures regulated for long periods of time. Perforations within the material allow for brilliant air flow, releasing warm air and allowing fresh, cool air to enter. TPU overlays protect the feet from direct snags and bumps due to rubber protective layers around the shoe, including a rubber toe overlay for direct contact with rocks and other obstacles on the trails. Cleansport NXT has been bonded to the surface of the upper to help prevent odours from building up over time. Other features on the upper include a padded collar and a bellows tongue to prevent debris from entering the shoe, keeping your feet comfortable and unbothered. Dual heel and tongue loops for ease of entry are included on the Moab Speed 2s and are caribiner compatible. To complete the upper, the traditional lacing system ensures the midfoot is locked down for a super secure fit.
FloatPro Foam Midsole
Merrel's signature FloatPro Foam has been used to ensure a light and durable feeling throughout the shoe. Ensuring ample underfoot cushioning, the midsole reduces shock from tough trails due to absorbing properties. Supportive features within the foam protect areas such as the heel and the arch of the foot specifically to prevent discomfort and possible injury. A Lightweight FlexPlate provides torsional rigidity, lateral stability and forefoot flexibility, assisting in reducing foot fatigue. It also shields the base of the foot from sharp debris below.
Vibram TC5+ Outsole
Providing exceptional traction over multiple terrains, including rain-slicked rocks and jagged trails. This foam has been formulated exclusively for Merrell, making it a one-of-a-kind grip. The rubber is exceptionally durable, maintaining its shape and structure, allowing you to stay on your feet for extended periods. Vibram traction lugs also feature on the outsole and have been specifically designed to increase traction and shed debris with each step.
