Seamless Bio-Based Dyneema Upper
Designed to withstand tough trail adventures and keep you locked in when traversing different terrains, the 002 features norda's unique seamless bio-based Dyneema upper. Bio-based Dyneema is manufactured exclusively by Avient, providing an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyurethane, making it the strongest of any thermoplastic. It is also light, so by weight it is up to 15 times stronger than steel, yet still floats in water. This super lightweight, indestructible compound protects against knocks, bumps and scrapes on the trail, keeping your feet well-shielded and comfortable. The one-piece woven design helps prevent the 002 from causing discomfort or irritation during excessive movement and tough trail journeys, providing a smooth next-to-skin sensation for feet to thrive. Wrapping feet with a flexible layer of cool, fresh fabrics provides constant airflow throughout the shoes, preventing overheating and keeping you focused on the trails ahead. A structured and padded heel collar surrounds your ankles to keep them contained for flexible freedom in the forefoot, allowing toes to splay, so you can adapt to the constant demands of changing trails. 100% recycled diamond-designed norda laces made from Dyneema are 4 times the strength of standard laces, have some stretch and high abrasive properties to keep feet locked in and you confident on rocky trails. The norda lock system works with the laces and sockliner to ensure the foot remains in place for stability when running. Completing the overall look of the shoes and keeping you safe in low-light conditions, the 002 features 360-degree reflectivity, including reflective linework that represents the silhouettes of St. Bruno, St Hilaire and Rougemont.
norda x Vibram SLE Midsole
Soft, comfortable and responsive, the midsole of the 002 uses a norda, Vibram collaboration, the Vibram SLE ensures optimum comfort across varying trail running conditions. Although reducing the stack height of the shoes to predecessors, the 002, Norda's updated 001, is perfect for mountain trail runners thanks to the energy return. This version of the norda x Vibram SLE midsole is custom-designed with a slight pyramidal geometry for increased stability and confidence in technical environments. Shock-absorbing properties help prevent discomfort across tough surfaces by absorbing the impact when striking the ground below, then expelling energy to propel you forward into your next stride. Made from eTPU the insole adds even more cushioning and extra energy return for excellent performance.
norda x Vibram Outsole
The 002 features an exclusive design Formation sole with Litebase and Megagrip. Preserving energy, the outsole keeps you stable and secure on a range of trail running surfaces. The Litebase compound has lowered the weight by 30% by reducing thickness, while ensuring grip, traction, and durability remain excellent. Alongside this, the Megagrip sole is a high-performing rubber compound that further assists in keeping your feet stable on the constantly changing ground below and keeping you confident when things become tough. The sole provides a solid grip on dry, wet and slippery ground, allowing you to traverse up mountains or tricky terrain. The sole has outstanding durability, so you can rely on these shoes for the long run. Adorning the outsole are strategically placed 5mm lugs that dig deep into the ground below.
