GORE-TEX Upper

Constructed using a mesh and synthetic upper, the Orion GORE-TEX Walking Shoes are extremely breathable and comfortable which will allow you to push yourself further. The mesh that surrounds the upper allows cool air to circulate throughout its construction creating a perfect microclimate for your skin to thrive in plus, the synthetic overlays increase structure and durability so you can hike with complete confidence. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. A Sensifit system cradles the foot providing a precise and secure fit whilst gusseted tongue sits comfortably against the skin and prevents debris from entering inside the shoe. Protection is key while out on the trails, so don't worry when wearing the Orion as it features a protective heel cap for rearfoot stability and a protective rubber toe cap to enhance protection from loose or sharp rocks. Completing the upper is a Quick Lacing System which provides a minimalistic and strong lace for a one-pull tightening ensuring you get the shoes on and off with minimal effort. A lace pocket is useful as it allows the laces to be stowed away making sure the laces do not get caught or snagged on any sticks or bushes out on the trail, reducing distractions.

EVA Midsole

The midsole is constructed from EVA which provides excellent shock-absorbing properties to help protect the foot from shock and impact force. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable. For additional comfort, an Ortholite sockliner is used to create a cooler, drier, healthier and better-cushioned environment under the foot. This material will not break down or lose effectiveness over time.

Contagrip Outsole

Tackle any trails in supreme confidence that you won't be let down by your shoe's grip. Using Contagrip, the outsole is able to form a solid grip between shoe and terrain. The rubber is also extremely durable and abrasion-resistant, which means long-term control is guaranteed. When you are on the wet and muddy ground, the shoe's deep lugs dig into the ground, which will anchor you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
