Suede Leather Upper
The Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX has a breathable, waterproof with a soft, comfortable construction, thanks to the high-quality suede leather and GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining. The durable 1.6mm suede leather is flexible to allow comfortable movement of your feet, whilst being highly durable to keep feet well protected and the boots you're wearing. The materials have moisture-wicking properties to prevent the growth of sweat and moisture to keep feet dry during intense periods. Working with the durable materials is a GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining is highly waterproof and breathable to keep feet dry in changing weather. The lining will also allow moisture and perspiration to escape easily, meaning discomfort is prevented. Utilising Exa Shell technology the uppers provide your feet with enhanced torsional stability, and working alongside a 3F System, they wrap your foot comfortably, to allow free and flexible movement of your feet. A mid-height soft collar is comfortable against your ankles whilst, the stretch gaiter prevents snow, scree and trail debris from entering the boots. For an adaptable fit that allows you to traverse hiking conditions as well as climbing, the Wildfire Edge Mid uses Salewa's Switchfit system. This construction offers you compression at the toes, similar to a climbing shoe, by tightening the laces to full your foot forward into the toebox. Once you're finished climbing you can return the laces to the original position, providing a wider toebox and comfort when hiking.
EVA Midsole
Featuring a full-length EVA platform, the midsole ensures you are provided excellent cushioning and long-lasting underfoot comfort. The lightweight compound is super soft and responsive, whilst has shock-absorbing properties to reduce the risks of injury or discomfort when on long hiking days. The midsole ensures you're ready for unpredictable trails and tough terrain. To ensure comfort across the varied terrain conditions, the Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX features an MFF+ footbed. The MFF+ allows you to customise the inside volume of the boots, thanks to the two separate, interchangeable layers. An Edging plate also resides in the midsole below the side of the foot and big toe for additional, directional stiffness.
Pomoca Speed MTN Pro Outsole
Designed to provide traction and grip on uneven terrain, the Wildfire Edge have been constructed using a POMOCA outsole. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. This will mean that the definition and functionality of the outsole will remain strong over a long period of time. The outsole has a climbing zone at the toe which ensures good edging performance. Its POMOCA Butylic compound rubber provides a better grip on rock in both dry and wet conditions, while the aggressive tread lugs offer improved traction on mud and softer terrain. Not only this, but the S-path technology of the outsole encourages a more natural roll-off.
