eVent StormST Upper
Power through wet, rainy road runs with the Phantom 4 Waterproof. This waterproof version of the iconic Phantom 4 features impressive eVent StormST technology, alongside an engineered knit fabric. Optimising in-shoe comfort and enhancing breathability, the engineered knit allows cool, fresh air to efficiently replace hot air, to keep you focused and fresh. Additionally, the quick-drying properties help reduce damp feet by effectively removing excess moisture, therefore providing you with a comfortable, dry sensation from the inside out. Further keeping feet dry, the eVent StormST is a plant-based membrane that protects feet from adventures in poor weather. This membrane delivers reliable breathability and waterproof protection for shielding in changing conditions. This outstanding technology is also windproof to shield feet from treacherous weather. Topo's signature roomy toe box helps toes align in their natural position for better balance, stability and comfort. A traditional lacing system allows you to lock in the fit for a secure midfoot and heel, ensuring confident strides, meaning worry-free runs.
Dual Density ZipFoam Midsole
The Phantom 4 Waterproof has a full-length, dual-density ZipFoam midsole to provide a super responsive and cushioned ride. ZipFoam is Topo's proprietary midsole compound, which is springier than EVA, offering more rebound than standard foam. The foam is lightweight, soft underfoot and highly responsive. This keeps you light on your feet and energised, propelling you into your next step, so you can pick up the pace and run for longer. The cloud-like foam offers shock-absorbing properties that help to prevent discomfort or possible injuries by absorbing the impact when striking down on tough terrain. With a dual-layer construction, it provides two levels of cushioning - soft against the foot and firmer/more responsive against the ground, working in harmony to keep you protected and bouncy. The midsole geometry provides neutral stability, reducing overpronation during your runs. With a greater stack height than the previous version, there is more cushioning underfoot. This midsole has a 5mm drop, which is Topo's highest drop, offering access to natural running with under-heel cushioning. Atop the midsole is an Ortholite foam insole that offers long-term resilience and anti-microbial properties for step-in comfort and fresh-smelling feet.
Durable Rubber Outsole
Produced using a highly durable rubber outsole, the Phantom 4 ensures traction on varied surfaces and conditions. The rubber provides a strong grip, protecting itself from possible damage and preventing users from slipping. Placed in high-wear areas such as the forefoot and heel to increase durability and resist heel strike trauma, for a reliable and long-lasting running partner. The rubber has been removed in the midfoot to reduce weight, keeping things light when you move.
