GORE-TEX Upper

Designed to provide comfort and protection, the Merrell Wildwood Trail Running Shoes have been constructed using a mesh and synthetic upper. This combination works to provide lightweight breathability and protection to keep your feet safe on rocky terrains. The mesh upper and breathable mesh lining encourage cool air to circulate, removing uncomfortable heat build-up to create a healthy environment for your foot to thrive in. Synthetic overlays have been strategically placed to provide durability and support where it's needed the most. The reinforcements provide lightweight support to promote a secure fit that resists the risks of wear and tear. A bonded InvisibleFit construction offers lightweight, breathable protection that fits and feels like an unprotected shoe, for full protection out on the trail without compromising quick footing. Engineered with a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane, the Wildwood offers complete waterproof performance and exceptional breathability; step confidently and comfortably through wet and muddy terrain as the GORE-TEX membrane allows water vapour to escape without letting water droplets in. The GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. Finishing the upper is a traditional lace closure that provides a secure and customisable fit while an external rear sling locks in the heel.

EVA Midsole

An EVA midsole offers supreme cushioning and stability, holding the foot securely in place for a smoother transition and wear. By supporting key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possible injury. A removable EVA foam insole provides additional shock absorption and stability when running the trails. The midsole helps to reduce stress on the foot with each step; this, in turn, lessens the impact during heel strikes and provides stability on uneven terrain.

M Select GRIP Outsole

Developed using M Select GRIP, the outsole of the Wildwood ensures durable traction and grip when and where you need it the most. Designed to work on both wet and dry ground the outsole for mixed terrain use. The highly slip-resistant outsole will hold your grip in any weather and over mixed terrain to ensure confident footing at all times. The outsole also features 3.5mm lugs which work to increase grip for lateral movements. The angled lugs cut through tough terrain with ease to give confidence on wet uneven ground. The lugs are also self-cleaning meaning they release dirt and debris on the move ensuring grip and traction, are never compromised.
