Breathable Mesh Upper

Designed with a breathable mesh, the ACG Ultrafly 2 encourages cool air to circulate while removing unwanted warm air, helping to control temperature and create a microclimate where feet can thrive. Made from abrasion-resistant materials, the shoes are highly durable, providing excellent protection for your feet and shoes, standing up to the rigours of trail running. The padded heel collar sits close to the foot to increase comfort, while the flat-lying tongue reduces irritation from rubbing. The upper features a traditional lacing system that locks the midfoot to prevent excessive movement for a secure fit.

ZoomX Midsole

Implementing a ZoomX midsole, the ACG Ultrafly 2 delivers Nike Running's greatest energy return yet. The Ultrafly 2 adds more ZoomX for responsive comfort on race day. Ultra-light and super-responsive, the midsole material delivers Nike's greatest energy return yet; it absorbs impact and then expels it back out for a bounce-like effect. This energy-return technology reduces superfluous muscle power, diminishing fatigue for enhanced performance. The revolutionary ZoomX foam is manufactured from Pebax, traditionally used in plastic bridges and other moulded parts, yielding cushioning that is not only lightweight but soft and springy. Until now, these three characteristics (collectively) have proven nearly impossible to achieve. Pebax has a lower density than some thermoplastic alternatives, making it lighter, more flexible and more impact-resistant, whilst giving it a higher capacity for energy return. When blown into foam, these properties remain, offering you a lively underfoot feeling that encourages you to run fast. Signalling the incredible resilience of ZoomX, the tiny creases on every midsole do not impact the foam's performance; these beauty marks are a result of the autoclave process, which places the foam under extreme heat and pressure. The ZoomX sheets are then compressed in a Phylon preform, which shapes the midsole parts. Because the special foam is so lightweight (one-third the weight of Cushlon), Nike can use more of it to separate your foot from the trail, meaning you get a thick and supportive midsole that will spare your joints as you strike down hard on unforgiving surfaces. Embedded within the midsole is a full-length carbon Flyplate. Intended to minimise energy, the carbon plate springs up under your heel as you stride forward, yielding a snappy, propulsive sensation that converts into extra-energised strides. The plate is curved at the front, enhancing energy return so you can push further for longer.

Vibram Megagrip Outsole

Developed with a Vibram Megagrip outsole, the Ultrafly 2 offers extreme grip and multi-directional traction across varied and technical terrain in both dry and wet conditions. The extremely durable rubber forms a solid bond with the ground, ensuring non-slip performance and anchoring the wearer in place. The deep, multi-directional lug pattern includes greater spacing, allowing the rubber to cut into the ground. The durable rubber is designed to withstand abuse from rough terrain, deflecting blows while retaining its strong shape and structure for long-lasting performance.
