Breathable Mesh Upper
The upper of the Spin Ultra 2 has been designed to keep your feet comfortable and ventilated on those intense trail runs or training sessions. Constructed using a mesh upper, this acts as a second skin for a barely there feel, keeping you light on your feet and distraction-free. Perforations in the fabric encourage cool air to circulate, removing uncomfortable heat build-up to create a healthy environment for your foot to thrive in. TPU has also been used in the upper to provide durability and support. Heat-sealed TPU film wraps around the foot to ensure a secure and comfortable fit. Scarpas Sock-Fit LW System has been added, the tongue is constructed in a single piece of elastic fabric, which allows a light wrap around your feet, offering a snug feel and lateral stability. This has been combined with Scarpas Exo system, which protects the lateral side, combined with the upper, creating an exoskeleton that better protects, supports and contains the foot. Completing the upper is a lacing system which locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides. This comes with a hidden lace pocket to help prevent the laces from untying and causing injury from a trip.
EVA Midsole
A compressed EVA platform resides underfoot for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. EVA is extremely firm, absorbing shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, giving you an added spring in your step. The midsole ensures you're ready for the unpredictable trails and tough terrain. In the forefoot, Scarpa has used a VELOX LB MAX low-density EVA insert, with differentiated thickness for maximum cushioning and an ESS insert, for maximum propulsion and shock-absorbtion.
Vibram Megagrip Outsole
Developed using a Vibram Megagrip outsole, the Scarpa Spin Ultra 2 provides extreme grip and traction on multiple surfaces. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the durable rubber forms a solid bond with the ground beneath, anchoring you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain, protecting users from losing control and slipping. Completing the outsole are lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs dig into wet and muddy ground, securing you in place whilst forming a solid base to push off.
