Amplifoam, Gel Midsole

The Midsole of the Gel-Pulse 13 contains ASICS' groundbreaking AmpliFoam technology. Designed to work with all 33 joints in the foot, this technology provides soft cushioning that helps keep you feeling healthy and happy. The Amplifoam unit is engineered to maintain durability at softer densities, providing better flexibility, comfort and platform adaptability - ideal for natural running. Lightweight and resilient, Amplifoam spares your joints as you footstrike on unforgiving surfaces. Further embedded within this platform is the Rearfoot GEL Cushioning System. This technology works to reduce shock during the impact phase, sparing your joints as you sprint down onto hard, uneven terrain and allowing for a peaceful transition to mid-stance. Guidance line technology within the midsole increases gait efficiency, so you experience less fatigue and less energy will be wasted. The vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression to provide a smooth transition through the gait cycle. Completing the midsole is an ortholite sock liner that increases underfoot comfort and provides effective moisture management.

AHAR Plus Outsole

ASICS' high abrasion rubber is made with a tough rubber compound, which is used in heavy-contact or high wear areas to help keep the shoe strong wear, after wear, after wear. This high abrasion outsole provides a strong grip and works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Strategically positioned in critical areas of the outsole, this exceptionally durable compound is 50% more durable than standard ASICS High Abrasion Rubber, for maximum protection and durability. Creating a strong bond with the ground beneath it, the outsole allows you to stay in full control at all times. Flex grooves also adorn the outsole to provide added traction underfoot, allowing for natural foot flexion - for easy, unhindered paces.
