adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2 GORE-TEX Walking Shoes

Whether you're out for a quick hike or a multi-day trek, these adidas walking shoes help you enjoy every moment of the adventure. Pairing the lightweight feel of a trail runner with the stability of a hiking boot, they're your ideal partner on hikes both near and far.

Ripstop Upper with GORE-TEX Membrane

The upper of the adidas Terrex Free Hiker has been constructed using a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane to keep your feet dry and protected as you take on the trail. GORE-TEX works tirelessly to shed water, whilst retaining breathable properties to improve comfort and airflow. Assisting the GORE-TEX membrane is a ripstop material, encasing each foot in breathable comfort. Supplying flexible support, the ripstop upper increases ventilation and eradicates the build-up of sweat which is unavoidable during exercise. Sweat and moisture are wicked away from the feet leaving you feeling fresh and ready to clock up the miles in extreme comfort. Light in weight and designed with motion in mind, Primeknit adapts to the changing shape of your foot through the gait cycle. Abrasion-resistant reinforcements adorn the upper and provide you with protection from bumps and knocks. A traditional lacing closure ensures your feet are locked in and secure to the shoes, preventing in-shoe slipping and helping you remain comfortable on every adventure. Lastly, the upper of these shoes are made with a high-performing recycled material that contains at least 50% recycled contents.

BOOST Midsole

Developed to provide lightweight cushioning, the midsole of the Terrex Free Hiker 2 Walking Shoes has been constructed using adidas' signature BOOST cushioning. adidas takes cushioning to new heights, with their ultra-responsive midsole - BOOST. Tiny TPU capsules are moulded together to form a platform that is different to standard, solid foams; absorbing energy and then expelling it back out for a bounce-like effect. This energy return technology reduces the use of superfluous muscle power, diminishing fatigue and enhancing performance; keeping you going for longer. The plush, responsive cushioning will spare your joints as you power down onto hard, unforgiving concrete. BOOST also manages to maintain its special function and bounce in conditions as low as -20 degrees, making it a reliable, durable and hard-to-beat midsole. Additionally, an EVA stabilisation frame further ensures stability and midfoot support, so you can tackle rough terrain, whilst feeling energised with every step.

Continental Rubber Outsole

Developed using a Continental Rubber outsole, the adidas Terrex Freehiker 2 GORE-TEX Walking Shoes ensure extraordinary traction in wet and dry conditions. Inspired by tyre technology, Continental Rubber supplies traction on wet and dry surfaces, meaning you can move fast through varied terrain. Providing a multi-directional grip, the outsole ensures traction on varied terrain for confident footing wherever you go. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping. The outsole is designed to be just as durable as the midsole, leaving you with a resilient, cushioned and grippy running shoe while the multi-directional lugs enhance grip and traction.
