Altra Escalante 4 Women's Running Shoes

Simplified and refreshed. Altra built the Escalante 4 as a nod to the fan-favourite Escalante 1.5, with FootShape fit, greater flexibility and a lighter weight. Tackle fast training runs, daily walks or errands in this streamlined and versatile road-mile destroyer.

Updated Engineered Knit Upper

Slide on breathable comfort in the new Escalante 4. The upper has been reimagined for an ultra-sleek sock-like look and feel, providing distraction-free strides and wrapping your foot in breathable comfort. The knit construction allows air to flow freely throughout, reducing an uncomfortable heat build-up and creating a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive. The Original FootShape Fit offers added levels of comfort, allowing your foot to sit more naturally and providing more space for toes to splay comfortably. This spacious construction addresses the biological differences between men's and women's feet, providing more space in the shoes. Completing the upper is a knit tongue and a lacing system, which locks down the midfoot for distraction-free strides.

Altra EGO Midsole

The midsole of the Escalante 4 is crafted from Altra's innovative EGO foam for an iconic underfoot experience. The midsoles' features provide the shoe with extremely responsive rebound and cushioning, whilst standard EVA protects and rebounds. The cushioning sits directly underneath the foot, reducing ground impact and returning the energy as a spring for each step taken. The 24mm midsole has been designed to provide added energy return and a responsive, yet soft, comfortable feel. The feet sit on a Balanced Cushioning zero-drop platform. This means the heel and the forefoot are the same distance from the ground, encouraging proper low-impact form throughout your run.

Durable Rubber Outsole

The outsole of the Escalante 4 has been constructed from a durable and abrasion-resistant rubber to ensure long-lasting use and enjoyment. It forms a solid grip on the ground, allowing for forward propulsion and enabling you to move further, faster, and more confidently. The outsoles FOOTPOD technology map the bones and tendons in the foot to encourage more natural movement underfoot for a comfortable feeling while running. Not only this, but Altra's INNERFLEX technology has been used too; these are grid-like grooves throughout the sole that improve the flexibility and movement of the foot.
