Altra Superior 7 Women's Trail Running Shoes
Nimble. Quick. Lightweight. If you want to feel connected to the trail, look no further. As a classic shoe in Altra's trail running repertoire, they made thoughtful tweaks to help enhance your comfort and connection to the trail.
Mesh Upper
The Superior 7 uses a mesh upper construction, making them a highly breathable and comfortable shoe. Keeping you cool and ready to tackle the trail, micro-perforations allow heat and vapour to escape while encouraging fresh air to circulate for a pleasant cooling sensation. This keeps your feet fresh and comfortable so you can stay focused. Lightweight overlays reinforce the shoe, making them abrasion resistant while protecting the foot from sharp rocks and debris on the trail. The Standard FootShape toe box provides room for natural toe flex, giving you greater stability and comfort. For improved comfort, Altra has used a new tongue construction, reducing pressure from the laces, to provide a better feel on top of the foot as you run. The 7th edition has also received an upgraded lace-up construction, which now features a ghillie lacing system for an improved fit, preventing in-shoe movement from occurring.
Compression Molded EVA Midsole
A compression molded EVA foam midsole has been used to add cushioning and flexibility, ideal for trail running. Maintaining the same stack height of 21mm as its predecessors, Altra has provided a foam with all the cushioning and durability needed to take on any trail. The midsole's construction provides the shoe with extremely responsive rebound and cushioning compared to standard EVA. This protects your feet and improves rebound. The cushioning sits directly underneath the foot, reducing ground impact, returning the energy as a spring for each step taken. Due to Altra's Balanced Cushioning technology, the feet sit on the midsole on a zero-drop platform, meaning the heel and the forefoot are the same distance from the ground, encouraging proper low-impact form throughout your trail run.
MAXTRAC Outsole
Completing the Altra Superior 7 is a new and improved MaxTrac rubber outsole. Combining sticky grip and traction with incredible durability, the MaxTrac rubber outsole will see you navigating the trickiest of terrain easily. With refined outsole lug shape and placement, the shoes offer extra grip compared to the Superior 6. New tooling across the outsole improves the shoe's flexibility, allowing for increased control and better ground feel.
