Engineered Mesh Upper

An update from the previous Cumulus 22, this mesh is new even softer, for unbeatable comfort. The upper delivers strategic support to targeted areas, giving you a helpful boost and a comfortable wearing experience. This upper works closely with the midsole's movement, which creates a smoother stride from footstrike to toe-off. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
Gel Technology, FlyteFoam and a Gender-Specific 3D Space Construction Midsole Constuction
To improve cushioning and flexibility, ASICS has added a 3D Space Construction to the top layer of the midsole. This technology is implemented through a series of strategically planted pillars within the midsole, allowing runners to experience more compression in a specific area without reducing durability or stability. These pillar formations are tuned differently in the men's and women's models to address each gender's biomechanical data. By helping runners appropriately compress the foam during the landing phase of their stride, this shoe promotes a smoother ride and improves shock absorption. A softer Gel Technology unit is positioned under the heel to improve cushioning, protecting the joints and muscles in the foot and ankle during footstrike, reducing the risk of injury. FlyteFoam helps create a smoother and more supportive ride, providing further cushioning and springy rebounds. This is done by utilising the force from your last step to power you into your next one, which reduces energy loss and fatigue - so you can go further than ever before.
ASICS Lite Rubber Outsole
Supreme grip and traction are guaranteed with the ASICS Lite Rubber Outsole. ASICS' lightweight, high abrasion rubber is a tough rubber compound used at the heavy-contact or high wear areas which helps to cut down on excessive wear. The high abrasion outsole provides a strong grip and works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Creating a strong bond with the ground beneath it, the outsole allows you to stay in full control at all times. Flex grooves also adorn the outsole to provide added traction underfoot, the grooves allow for natural foot flexion for easy, unhindered paces. An impact guidance system exists underfoot to enhance the foot's natural gait from heel-strike to toe-off. The guidance line exists to enhance gait efficiency while increasing the shoe's torsional rigidity to prevent it from twisting. Lastly, deep flex grooves create smoother transitions from midfoot to toe-off.
