ASICS Glideride 2 Women's Running Shoes

Engineered Mesh Upper
Improving the fit of the upper, this design features an engineered mesh that provides excellent airflow while adjusting to the natural shape of the foot's motion. Paired with a 3D print, this application also creates targeted support without extra stitching or added weight. Perforations in the fabric increase airflow creating a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. Supplying flexible support, the knit works to increase ventilation and eradicate the build-up of sweat which is unavoidable during exercise. Sweat and moisture are wicked away from the feet leaving you feeling fresh and ready to clock up the miles in extreme comfort. The upper is thin, lightweight, soft and sits close to your foot, but it still provides a secure and substantial feel for wear all day, all year, almost anywhere. The adaptive fit works together with the discrete eyelets and clutch counter to provide a secure locked-in fit. The clutch counter provides an optimum fit and increased support for the lower ankle; by locking in the heel whilst a seamless fit reduces the risks of chafing for a comfortable irritation-free fit. Lastly, a traditional lacing system cradles the midfoot for a locked-down fit.
Guidesole Midsole
Guidesole technology consists of a curved sole that improves running efficiency by decreasing the load placed on the lower limbs. Flytefoam technology cushioning is placed on the top layer of the midsole for a soft landing, while the bottom layer of Flytefoam Propel technology generates a more responsive bounceback. FlyteFoam is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, 55% lighter than the industry standard, EVA and it buffers against the ground to protect you from unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run, so you can train harder, more frequently, for longer without the worry your shoes might not be able to take it. A full-length FlyteFoam Propel platform is designed to provide enhanced responsiveness at toe-off; increased energy-return means your use of superfluous muscle power is reduced and performance is enhanced. FlyteFoam Propel technology lets you run with the feeling that your feet aren't even touching the ground. Embedded within the midsole platform, and complementing its bouncy nature, the Rearfoot and GEL Cushioning Systems work to reduce shock during the impact phase, sparing your joints as your sprint down onto hard, unforgiving concrete, and allowing for a smooth transition to mid-stance. Completing the midsole is a 3D Guidance Line which follows the natural progression of the foot from impact to toe-off to encourage a more consistent running stride. Working to enhance gait efficiency, guidance line technology helps to move the foot forward in a natural, transition.
AHAR Outsole
Supreme grip and traction are guaranteed with the AHAR outsole. ASICS' high abrasion rubber is a tough rubber compound used at the heavy-contact or high wear areas which helps to cut down on excessive wear. As well as this it can create a strong bond with any ground beneath it, helping you stay in full control. The soft, curved nature of the sole works with the stiff forefoot to increase running efficiency and reduce ankle flexion. The reduction in ankle flexion allows other muscle in the leg such as the calf to increase in efficiency so they can work less and achieve more.
