ASICS Metaspeed Edge Tokyo Running Shoes

Motion Wrap 3.0 Upper

An update on their previous version, the Metaspeed Edge features a newly designed Motion Wrap 3.0 upper for optimum comfort and breathability. The lightweight, technical, engineered woven upper wraps around your foot for a more comfortable, focused wearing experience and a fresh in-shoe sensation. Being exceptionally thin, the materials will also allow a steady flow of air in and out, providing constant breathability and ventilation to keep you going for longer. The no-sew construction will also encourage targeted airflow, removing the risk of irritations caused by rubbing and chafing. Support is offered to the forefoot and rearfoot as the material thickens, protecting vulnerable areas of the feet whilst a flat-lying tongue prevents irritation. Completing the upper of the Metaspeed Edge is a traditional lace-up construction, allowing you to keep your foot locked down and secure inside the shoes.

FF Leap and FF Turbo Plus Midsole

Improving on their predecessors, the Megaspeed Edge features a double-layer midsole design combining the FF Leap compound alongside ASICS' FF Turbo Plus cushioning. The newly updated FF Leap cushioning in the top layer is super bouncy and lightweight for underfoot comfort. With exceptional energy return, the midsole propels you forward and improves cushioning under the forefoot for enjoyable runs and long-lasting comfort. In the bottom layer of the midsole, the FF Turbo Plus structure compresses during impact before quickly snapping back to its original shape, providing an explosive response. This also provides cushioning to take the weight off the joints, reducing injuries, preventing fatigue and instantly absorbing impact with the ground, preventing uncomfortable forces. This configuration enhances the foam's responsive properties while creating better stability so your heel doesn't sink at mid-stance. A curved sole design helps to reduce ankle flexion, allowing runners to conserve more energy and run further with less effort. A carbon plate runs from the midfoot towards the front to add structure while guiding the foot and propelling the body forward, allowing you to conserve more energy and help maintain your pace in the race's later stages.

ASICSGRIP Outsole

Outstanding grip and traction are guaranteed with the ASICSGRIP outsole. Keeping you anchored to the ground beneath will improve efficiency, making every second count. The rubber can form a solid grip on surfaces beneath you for complete control in all conditions. Additionally, the rubber is extremely tough and abrasion-resistant, which means it will maintain its shape and definition over a long period. The outsole's design will also provide further traction, as it will dig in to provide further control.
