Breathable Mesh Upper

The upper construction of the Gel-Pursue 2 is a breathable mesh fabric. This allows air to permeate the entire upper sucking in fresh, cool air whilst at the same time pushing out hot, muggy air from within the shoes. Overlays throughout the midfoot area tie in with the traditional lacing system to help provide a more structured and tighter fit. These overlays help wrap around the midfoot creating a locked-in fit to prevent any slipping that can occur whilst running. In addition, the tongue and heel cuff are filled with plush padding that provides ultimate comfort to the ankle and Achilles areas, preventing any chafing, irritation and discomfort. A removable comforDRY sockliner has been placed along the footbed which provides additional underfoot cushioning and step-in comfort. The insole is made from a fabric blend which allows excess sweat and moisture to be wicked from the skin and transferred to the outer layers of the fabric where it can be easily evaporated.

FluidRide Midsole

The midsole compound is constructed using FluidRide technology. This allows the midsole to provide ultimate bounce back and cushioning characteristics which improve performance. FluidRide significantly reduces impact forces and shock waves that occur during the heel strike phase of the gait cycle, after this, it transfers the energy created by the heel strike to the forefoot area where it is then harnessed to push you off into your next step. Another key feature of the FluidRide is that it is extremely lightweight. This ensures the wearer receives all the cushioning benefits but with reduced weight and allows the wearer to feel as though they are running on air. Gel cushioning has been placed in the heel area of the shoe to provide extra cushioning as the wearer heel strikes.

AHAR Outsole

The outsole of the Gel-Pursue 2 is made from blown AHAR (Asics High Abrasion Rubber). This is highly abrasion resistant and improved the shoes durability and grip without adding unnecessary weight. A Guidance Trusstic System has been placed under the arch area of the outsole to enhance gait efficiency by providing midfoot structural integrity. A guidance line has also been added to the outsole which is a vertical flex groove that runs the full length of the sole to enhance gait efficiency.
