Great for races between 50 and 100k, get ready for top-speed trail adventures in the Brooks Catamount 3. Light, responsive cushioning plus a propulsion plate for uphill efficiency join forces to produce this fast and responsive trail-running shoe.
An Engineered Air Mesh upper hugs the foot for a secure but breathable fit. Perforations in the construction allow cool air to permeate, preventing an intolerable build-up of heat and keeping your feet cool and comfortable. The mesh actively and efficiently wicks away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture, keeping you dry as you strive for the best results and performance. A toe cap and mudguard work to protect the feet against trail debris so you can continue with complete comfort and confidence. As well as this, strong yet flexible internal reinforcements around the midfoot have been teamed with a half bootie tongue construction to keep your foot locked in place for added stability. Drainage slits allow water to leave the shoe quickly so that your feet dry faster while a traditional lacing system helps to lock the midfoot to prevent excessive movement.
Brooks created the all-new DNA FLASH midsole by infusing the adaptive DNA material with nitrogen, providing an incredibly lightweight and springy experience that's made to help you go fast. Having the cushioning and support helps to lessen the impact placed upon your joints as well as attenuate shock, minimising the potential risk of injury or discomfort. The cushioning underfoot is not only super comfortable, but the nitrogen infusion will enhance energy return, pushing you further on the trails. An all-new SkyVault propulsion plate provides the responsive drive you need to summit peaks and push the pace. It is tough enough to ensure your feet are protected from rocks and roots whilst also enhancing uphill efficiency.
The TrailTack rubber outsole and multi-directional lugs provide outstanding uphill and downhill traction, even on slippery surfaces. Ensuring multi-directional grip, the outsole provides traction on varied terrain ensuring confident footing on any run. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping. The durable, resilient non-skid rubber delivers optimal grip and traction, ideal for technical trails where unpredictable terrain is highly prevalent.
