Hoka Zinal 2 Trail Running Shoes

A veritable paring knife for the trail, the Zinal 2 was designed to deliver the same light responsive precision as its predecessor, however with a touch more energy return. 2mm of stack height has been removed and taller lugs have been added for an aggressive, toothy grip.

Vamp Mesh Upper

Providing feet with a perfect level of comfort, breathability and protection on the trails, the Zinal 2s utilise a vamp mesh upper construction. The mesh allows air to flow freely through the construction, keeping your feet cool and comfortable during even the more intense sessions of your run. The materials are moisture-wicking to keep your feet dry when the temperatures rise, preventing a build-up of sweat and moisture. Strategically placed overlays protect your feet and shoes from dirt, debris and knocks and bumps on the trail. The lightweight shoes contain your feet well, and using a stretch-knit collar with a sock-like design will help to prevent dirt and debris from entering for constant comfort. A heel pull tab is present, providing you with easier access in and out of the shoes. A traditional lacing system anchors the foot into the shoe for advanced security, stability and control, so you can take on whatever the trail throws at you.

EVA Midsole

Supplying you with great levels of cushioning and comfort underfoot, the shoes have a lightweight, responsive EVA midsole compound. The EVA works by attenuating shock and cushioning the foot during strike. This helps to protect the foot from stress and strain, reducing the risk of injury, whilst also providing springy rebounds to propel you forward, utilising the power from your last step to power you into your next one. The cushion bed of the Zinal 2s are low-profile to keep your foot closer to the ground and utilises a firmer material designed to provide an efficient push-off.

Vibram Megagrip Outsole

The Zinal 2s are completed using a Vibram Megagrip Outsole with Litebase and Traction lugs. This combination of materials is perfect for providing you with an exceptional level of grip and traction across the trails. The outsole is highly durable with newly updated 5mm lugs to dig deep on mud and wet surfaces and provide you reliable traction for fast, responsive movement, from toe-off to turns, allowing you to navigate the constantly changing terrain. All of this grip and traction power is wrapped up in a lightweight, slim package, with it being up to 30% lighter than other Vibram outsoles and up to 50% thinner - for excellent speed and proprioception, all without reducing performance.
