Woven-Knit Mesh Upper

The Clifton 9 features a breathable woven knit mesh upper that is lightweight and airy, alongside 31% recycled polyester. The nearly seamless design prevents chafing and irritation from occurring, to keep them comfortable and cosy throughout. The knitted mesh wraps each foot in breathable comfort, allowing air to fully permeate the entire upper. Although lightweight, this mesh upper remains resilient enough for your child to be able to put it through any workout. Furthermore, this construction provides a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air that resides within the shoes during intense activity. An abrasive-resistant toecap protects little feet from knocks and bumps on their runs. Providing next-to-skin comfort and a locked-in feel, the shoes have a 57% recycled polyester tongue and collar lining. Finally, the shoes utilise a combination of 70% recycled nylon and 30% recycled polyester lacing system to provide a locked-in, secure fit, helping to reduce in-shoe slipping and keep small feet secure inside the shoes.

EVA Midsole

A full-length platform of EVA, made from 30% sugarcane resides underfoot for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft, and durable, it spares your child's joints as they strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces whilst adding an energetic response with each step. Hoka uses the iconic Clifton geometry in the midsole of the Junior version to increase running efficiency. The Meta-Rocker midsole geometry is specifically designed with a low heel-toe differential and a sculpted outsole to create a unique fulcrum effect, like a rocking chair to encourage a guided gait cycle. This design supports a natural form while promoting an efficient, smooth roll from initial impact to toe-off.

High-Abrasion Rubber Outsole

Keeping up with your kiddo's active lifestyle, this Junior version of the Clifton 9 utilises a high-abrasion rubber outsole. This grippy outsole has a full ground contact design that completes this iconic shoe, and utilising strategic high-abrasion rubber zones, the shoe has enhanced durability and provides a weight reduction. Employing an updated lug pattern the shoes supply your little one with enhanced traction on every road surface. Lastly, a wider base provides added stability on their next run.
