Built at the intersection of road and trail, the Challenger 7 has been completely reimagined from the ground up. Combining a simplified mesh upper with a soft new foam, with an increased stack height for a plusher feel and added proprietary rubber to the bottom unit, along with a reimagined outsole design for the best all-terrain ride yet.
Engineered Mesh Upper
The Challenger 7 features an exceptionally breathable mesh upper, designed to keep your feet ventilated and comfortable during any activity. This updated engineered mesh incorporates recycled materials and offers enhanced breathability while maintaining a lightweight feel. It effectively allows heat to escape and cooler air to circulate, providing continuous ventilation. This light upper also contributes to improved performance and allows for complete freedom of movement. Additionally, a comfortable heel cap provides a soft and secure lockdown fit. The traditional lacing system locks the midfoot to prevent excessive movement and ensure a locked-in fit. The flat-lying tongue offers additional comfort against the ankle, preventing irritation from rubbing or chafing. Completing the upper is an extended heel pull that assists in putting the shoes on and off.
CMEVA Midsole
The Challenger 7 utilises a compression-moulded EVA midsole to provide excellent cushioning without adding extra weight. The midsole ensures consistent comfort and a soft feel underfoot. Designed to enhance every step, the compression-moulded EVA effectively absorbs impact and creates a stable landing, allowing you to run further, for longer, with enhanced comfort and protection. This design also helps minimise the stress on your joints. Despite being lighter than the previous version, the Challenger 7 boasts a higher stack height for even greater cushioning.
Durabrasion Rubber Outsole
Designed using a Durabrasion rubber outsole, the Challenger 7 delivers an abundance of grip and traction to help fill you with confidence as you tackle the trails. Designed for road-focused all-terrain running, the rubber compound is super durable with reliable longevity. 4mm lugs provide traction on various surfaces; strategically placed with an improved lug pattern along the outsole, the lugs provide a full, unrestricted range of motion in all directions and much-needed flexibility to bolster comfort and performance in equal measures. The updated lug pattern delivers a smoother ride on the road without sacrificing its trail traction, meaning that the Challenger 7 provides stability on various terrains, making it the perfect all-purpose trail shoe.
