Warp Knit Upper

It allows built-up heat and vapour to escape while fresh air flows in for a pleasant cooling sensation. The fabric has received an anti-fray treatment to ensure robustness out on the trail, protecting both the shoe itself and your feet from knocks and scrapes. The stretchy, patent-pending Dynamic Vamp allows your feet plenty of room, whilst the TPU cage and traditional lacing system lock in your foot for confident strides. Gaiter attachment points allow you to attach a gaiter should you wish, sealing out dirt and debris kicked up as you speed along. Finally, reflective elements ensure visibility in low light.

Dual Density PEBA Midsole

The midsole of the Mafate 5 is made with a dual-layer PEBA construction, with a supercritical soft springy foam top layer and a shock-absorbing bottom layer. This absorbs shocks, protecting your joints, and keeps your feet feeling fresh mile after mile. This energy is then converted into rebound, springing you into your next step. Hoka's Rocker Integrity Technology has been integrated with a reinforced MetaRocker to tackle uneven terrain, providing a steady, balanced ride.​ A premium sockliner has been added to the midsole to deliver instant step-in comfort.

Vibram Megagrip Outsole

Underfoot is a Vibram Megagrip outsole, designed to deliver exceptional traction and grip across various terrains. This high-performance rubber compound offers outstanding grip on both wet and dry surfaces, ensuring durability and excellent ground adaptability. The rubber effectively bonds with the ground, providing reliable traction and control as you venture off the beaten path. This is combined with Traction Lug technology and 5mm lugs that bite into the ground below for advanced traction on the trail, allowing you to take on rugged terrain easily.
