Hoka Mafate X Women's Trail Running Shoes

Calling all trail racing fiends, gravel grinders, and 100-milers. There's a new trail titan in town. Built for long-haul efforts, the Mafate X delivers supreme plushness with a dual-density, premium foam chassis, PEBA top layer, and a pop of propulsion thanks to the forked carbon fibre plate. Hoka have implemented an ultralight woven upper that allows for easy drainage and a Vibram Megagrip outsole with pod-like cutouts to ensure a smooth ride over variable terrain.

Woven Jacquard Upper

The Mafate X features a bunch of updates from its predecessor and uses a new single-layer jacquard mesh in the construction of the upper. This design significantly enhances airflow, providing consistent breathability and comfort for your feet. The improved mesh allows cool air to circulate while enabling warm, unwanted air to escape. This helps you stay cool, dry, and comfortable, even as your activity intensifies. The material provides lightweight support by conforming to the foot. Additionally, strategically placed overlays securely lock your foot in place, contributing to a stable and supportive fit. These overlays not only offer essential support but also increase the shoe's durability by protecting both the material and your foot from potential trail hazards. A protective rubber toe cap guards against impacts, and a moulded TPU heel counter offers further protection and support for the heel, enhancing the locked-in feel. The dynamic vamp offers greater flexibility and movement in the toe box. A traditional lacing system secures the midfoot to prevent excessive movement and ensure a locked-in fit, and a gusseted tongue helps prevent stones and debris from entering. Lastly, reflective elements enhance visibility in low-light conditions.

PEBA Core Midsole

Offering an exceptionally comfortable ride, the Mafate X utilises a PEBA Core foam midsole to provide a more cushioned, responsive experience. The foam adapts to your stride, providing great cushioning and flexibility, and also helps to reduce injury by absorbing impact for a softer landing. Also residing in the midsole is a super critically foamed EVA carrier, which works alongside the PEBA Core foam to enhance underfoot cushioning and shock absorption. A forked carbon fibre plate helps to deliver a smoother transition throughout the gait cycle. The carbon plate minimises energy loss, increases explosive propulsion and delivers an abundance of structural support, making running feel effortless and giving you the confidence to reach new PBs. A SCF TPEE sockliner also resides in the midsole to provide step-in comfort, while the rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame cradles the foot for ultimate support and confidence. A meta-rocker completes the midsole, providing a smooth transition through toe-off.

Vibram Megagrip Outsole

The Hoka Mafate X is equipped with a Vibram Megagrip outsole, designed to deliver exceptional traction and grip across various terrains. This high-performance rubber compound offers outstanding grip on both wet and dry surfaces, ensuring durability and excellent ground adaptability. The rubber effectively bonds with the ground, providing reliable traction and control as you venture off the beaten path. Additionally, the outsole features 3.5mm lugs that offer flexible, sticky multi-directional traction, giving you confidence during challenging ascents and descents. These lugs provide extra support and stability, allowing you to trust your footwear on any outdoor exploration.
