Hoka Speedgoat Mid Waterproof Trail Running Shoes

In any environment, expect a supreme performance from the Hoka Speedgoat Mid Waterproof Trail Running Shoes. Whether you are conquering mountain summits or just a slippery grass field, the extreme grip will not let you down.

Waterproof Upper

Surrounding the top of the shoe, Hoka have coated the shoe with a membrane. This is waterproof and when exposed to liquid on a wet day, the surface will wick it away preventing it from affecting the foot. The material used is a combined one, and certain areas provide ventilation. These mesh panels allow air to enter and exit the shoe, cooling the feet down in the process. The material is thicker towards the front of the shoe, protecting the toes and forefoot from potential bumps and knocks. Securing and tightening for the perfect fit is easily achieved with up the foot laces, and a padded tongue makes sure it is a comfortable one as well. A high ankle sock sits gently on the ankle resulting in a gentle feel, whilst it also acts as an anti-debris net.

CMEVA Midsole

The ultra-thick CMEVA midsole absorbs all impacts underfoot, protecting vulnerable areas of the foot. Extremely thick and cushioned, the whole of the foot is covered. As well as providing protection, weight is transferred evenly, improving the shoe's stability. Energy is also recycled as rebound, so shocks and bumps are then used to give you a spring in your step. For further responsiveness that assists with performance, the shoe uses Hoka's Meta-Rocker geometry midsole. This is a designed heel that offers support in a gait cycle. When running, the sole gently rocks which helps transitions, takeoffs and landings.

Vibram MegaGrip Outsole

Fantastic grip and traction is guaranteed on any surface with the Vibram MegaGrip Hi-Traction Outsole. MegaGrip is an outsole developed by separate brand Vibram, and this specific sole is engineered with trail running in mind. Able to grip just as well on a dry surface as it is on wet ones, the rubber is long-lasting and evenly distributes weight giving optimum balance and stability. It is also adaptable, being able to work in the same way no matter what is happening underfoot. In addition to this, grip and control is enhanced by multi-directional studs. This grip into wet and soft ground, anchoring the body to the ground on landings. This control reduces the risk of slipping and ultimately reduces risk of injury.

Who Are HOKA One One

Hoka One One is the brainchild of two gravity sports enthusiasts Jean-Luc Diard and Nicolas Mermoud. Both men have been adventuring for as long as they can remember, and their trail running experiences have taken them across the globe. Both Jean-Luc and Nicolas are committed to the values of freedom and enjoyment and feel that this is part of the running experience whether running on the trail or in the city. With this in mind they started to look at the variables that affected the performance of different types of runners. They quickly came to an important conclusion; fatigue, impacts and muscle strains were challenges that runners of all stripes had to deal with every day. So Jean-Luc and Nicolas came up with a brilliant idea, why not design a shoe that would help to alleviate these problems - so that freedom and enjoyment could be guaranteed every time you go running! From that idea Hoka One One was born. The word Hoka is derived from the ancient Maori language and roughly translated to "now it is time to fly". That's just how it feels to run in a pair of Hoka One One shoes; with each and every step, your foot flies. Today's runners from around the world are learning about the benefits of Hoka One One, they have been used by marathon winners. 50 miles, 100 miles and even 2000+ miles ultra-runners as well as runners just like you or I, who want to enjoy running, perform at their peak and feel that important sense of freedom whilst maintaining top physical performance and protecting against shocks, jolts and injuries. So put your best foot forward, it's time to fly!

"Excellent product."

"Pros, very comfortable excellent cushioning, really good grip with the Vibram and deepish lugs. The waterproofing keeps feet dry and warm and the shoe offers better stability than I was expecting. The only con after 3 runs is that the shoe is a bit heavier than my previous trail shoe, but not significantly."

"I needed some waterproof trail shoes these fitted the bill perfectly. Definitely need to go half a size up as suggested my many. I've got asics, nike, mizuno, altra all 8.5 but whilst the fit of those differs slightly they do all fit. These were the first pair of size 9 I've ever bought and they fit perfectly. I'd even suggest going a full size up if you have wider feet. They are really comfy and feel the same nearly 100k in as when I first put them on so didn't really take any breaking in. Durability is good so far and the plasticy outer cleans up well"

"Super shoes!!!!!!"

"I suffer with shoes blisters mainly these are for hiking which i cannot fault. They are light waterproof and thank god blister free...i went a half size bigger because the toe box is narrow i could easily have gone a full size bigger but still very happy."

"Comfortable, definitely glad I heeded the warning to go up half a size. Exactly what they say on the tin."

"Light and comfortable, like other Hoka One One shoes, the shock absorption is amazing. They fit me well, but might feel narrower across the metatarsals. Not tried them in really wet conditions yet, but waterproofing seems to be good."

"seem really goo so will use as summer hikes and trail mountain runs , bear in mind they're only mid ankle so no use in boggy areas"
