Huub Acara 3:5 Women's Wetsuit
Huub created and refined the female buoyancy profile of a wetsuit to best optimise the female-specific needs. The Acara presents 3:5 buoyancy along with unprecedented shoulder and arm flexibility coupled with new groundbreaking technologies. Bicep Release and Calf Release exclusive to HUUB.
Constructed using Huub's X-O Skeleton, the Huub Acara 3:5 Women's Wetsuit works to ensure superior body alignment and stroke efficiency. X-0 Skeleton does a similar job to our skeleton within the body: it keeps everything in the right place. The X-0 Skeleton gives the suit a durable structure, to reduce energy wastage as your hips and pelvis will move less and thus making you faster and reducing fatigue. An exclusive 3:5 buoyancy profile ensures your feet always remain slightly higher than the rest of your body so you can achieve a more dynamic swim. With a 3:5 buoyancy, you'll never get that sinking legs feeling as there is 5mm of buoyancy supporting your legs to keep you afloat. A 3mm buoyancy profile has also been used in the upper body to keep your body above water as you reach your next PB.
Bicep and calf release technology works to improve arm and leg positioning, creating less tension and increasing overall comfort levels. It also allows for less restriction in that area of the body allowing for a more enhanced stroke. A super-flexible shoulder panel helps to deliver a full, unrestricted range of motion in all directions to give you the edge against your competitors or against the clock. Having the maximum mobility will allow you to cut through the water, increasing your speed and efficiency. Furthermore, a Huub neckline adds flexibility and has a low design for optimum breathability when in the water. Completing the Huub Acara 3:5 Women's Wetsuit is a breakaway zipper which allows for fast transitions whether you're entering or exiting the water.
If you have sharp nails, wearing gloves is recommended to prevent them from snagging on the material and potentially causing damage to it. Specially designed to keep you comfortable, protected and enhanced in open water, the construction and feel of the wetsuit will mean that no outdoor water is a barrier. HUUB recommends that if you are on the border of two different sizes, going a size up rather than down would result in a better fit. It is vitally important to get a close fitting wetsuit. Once you have an optimally fitted wetsuit on it feels like a second skin which is what makes it so effective when you are in the water. But with a garment that fits so tightly, the challenge is in how to get it on without damaging the suit or chafing or trapping your skin. Adjusting the suit to fit your body comfortably so that it doesn't cause discomfort whilst you are swimming also needs a little practice.
