Inov8 Shoe Fit Scale
For technical footwear, a good fit is essential to enhance your performance. Inov8's new Shoe Fit Scale makes it easier to find the perfect fitting shoe. All Inov8 shoes are designed with Met-Cradle technology to lock down the mid-foot for a stable hold, where they differ is in the toe box. The shoes are now graded from 1 to 5, Grade 1 representing their closest, most precise fit and Grade 5 representing the widest fitting toe box.
The lower the number on the scale, the narrower the fit, which ensures minimal internal movement of the foot when running fast on technical terrain. Shoes with the higher numbers on the scale will suit athletes with a wider foot and those wanting that extra comfort in the toe box. This wider toe box allows the toes to splay for increased stability when lifting heavy weights. It's also perfect for longer runs and races when toes begin to swell.
Inov8 have graded the Roadtalon 240 Running Shoes as Grade 3.
Breathable Mesh Upper
Run fast with confidence, weighing just 240g and with a 4mm drop, this is a flexible and responsive shoe that allows quick running whilst still delivering comfort, protection and support. Engaging a fusion of technical road technologies unified into one sleek, aggressive upper the RoadTalon 240 epitomises what a road shoe should be. The new generation upper has undergone design tweaks to yield improved responsiveness and flexibility for greater comfort and now features a Synthetic Mesh that covers the upper for lightweight, breathable coverage.
Supporting the midfoot and securing a lockdown fit the RoadTalon 240 utilises the new ADAPTERWEB met-cradle design. The upper webbing support on the shoe is built around the natural anatomy of the foot to cradle the forefoot behind the metatarsal heads and provide a secure foot hold. The mesh provides a dynamic fit and feel whilst allowing air to permeate the interior keeping the foot cool and refreshed.
Powerflow Midsole
Run effortlessly over any snow and ice with unique POWER-FLOW midsole technology. POWERFLOW delivers 10% better shock absorption and 15% better energy return than standard midsoles. The reliable underfoot shock attenuation compound gives for greater comfort over the miles by reducing forces pressed upon the underfoot platform for a clean stride through the transition. 1 Arrow Shoc-Zone provides moderate underfoot cushioning and a 4 mm heel-to-toe drop.
Coinciding with the Midsole engineering a Dynamic Fascia Band running from the heel to the forefoot acts as a rigid lever arm, releasing energy with each step and propelling the runner forward with an explosive take-off.
Tri-C Outsole
The Iconic inov-8 outsole grip is optimised for road running. Every ounce of energy generated by the body is transferred to the road through the outsole, with TRI-C outsole delivering traction throughout the gait cycle. The Sticky Fusion Compound is a mix of synthetic rubber and EVA foam for a smooth ride and grip on the road while Meta-Flex groove is located at the forefoot to encourage natural forefoot flex during toe-off. At the rear, a Terradapter heel unit provides added protection and durability at heel strike. 100% sure-footed on any road. Grip and stability delivered through a patent-pending claw-cleat lug design.
