Created with performance mesh, the upper of the Targhee Apex ensures your feet stay cool and shielded. Perforations encourage cool air to circulate the foot, removing heat to keep feet comfortable, while reducing fatigue and boosting motivation to push on. Overlays increase protection from snags and bumps on unpredictable terrain, extending the boot lifespan. Additionally, a KEEN.DRY membrane adds waterproofing to block moisture from entering and causing discomfort. Designed with Keen's Original Fit, the boots have a comfortable feel, allowing toes to spread, while the KEEN.PROTECT toe bumper protects your toes from rocks and uneven surfaces. A traditional lacing system locks the midfoot to prevent excessive movement for a secure fit. An Eco-Anti odour finish completes the upper, preventing odour-causing microbes from building up, keeping the boots feeling and smelling fresher for longer.

The midsole provides significant cushioning and comfort to help improve performance, keeping you at your optimum level longer. With excellent cushioning, the midsole absorbs shock throughout the gait cycle, for resilient comfort while reducing injury. A removable foam insole in the midsole increases comfort and support when you step into the boots. The insole sits comfortably underfoot and can be easily removed if you'd prefer not to use it. An internal stability shank provides lightweight support and completes the midsole. It reduces ankle rolling and injury by providing more stability on uneven terrain.
