Waterproof Upper
Mesh uppers will encase each foot in breathable comfort. Perforates in the fabric increase airflow; creating a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a KEEN.DRY membrane resides inside the boot; supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but KEEN.DRY keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. As well as this, the shoes will retain heat in colder wintry environments, which will mean that you will be able to take on all weather conditions without risk of feeling exposed. A high rising ankle will proved extra heat retention to the ankles and shins, as well as sealing in heat within the boots. The contoured heel lock cradles the heel in stability; it helps to anchor the foot to the midsole, reducing in-shoe slippage for distraction-free exercise.
A mesh lining surrounds the foot to further supplement the Terradora's breathable function; increasing airflow to create an airy fit on hot, longer distance days. To control odour, Keen use naturally-occurring, beneficial microbial enzymes named CLEANSPORT NXT. Using a special technology, these live enzymes are bonded to the boot lining where they remain dormant until exposed to moisture. The microbes are activated by moisture from perspiration. Perspiration contains odour-causing bacteria. CLEANSPORT NXT organisms thrive on this odour-causing bacteria thereby eliminating odour biologically. So you and your gear get that fresher-for-longer feel.
Low Density EVA Midsole
A PU foam footbed lies atop a lightweight midsole to supply an extra layer of step-in comfort and resilient cushioning. Its dual-density construction increases heel stability, arch support and shock absorption. Firmer foam on the medial side helps to control pronation, enhancing support over tricky terrain and preventing injury. The softer foam works to attenuate shock, complimenting the midsole material and protecting you at heel-strike and toe-off. A generous helping of low-density EVA resides underneath the sockliner, introduced to supply female-specific cushioning and comfort. Light in weight and low in profile, it spares your joints as you pound down onto hard, unforgiving terrain.
Non-Marking Rubber Outsole
A Keen Non-Marking Rubber Outsole completes the Terradora, using 4mm multi-directional lugs to ensure all-terrain versatility and traction. Keen implement an ESS Shank to promote underfoot stability; the stiff, lightweight structure adds midfoot support to keep you comfortable on your feet throughout the day and night. It increases torsional rigidity and diminishes the load incurred by the wearer's feet and calves over the course of awkward ascents and daring descents. So you can remain confident even when the going gets tough, and the risk of injury is reduced. The ESS Shank also helps to protect you against jagged ground and stone bruises.
